It's been noted by many here that this is a very classy performance by Patti, & it truly is, but also a classy performance, as always, by Mr. Grusin, the composer of this beautiful melody. He just has such a enchanting style at the piano, mesmerizing... No one else has his signature sound. Been a fan of this great man for nearly 50 years. A true treasure to the world of music!
One of my fave female jazz artists Patti Austin. And her version of It Might Be You is such a VERY GREAT RENDITION, esp. the higher version of it; from the first stanza as voice starts off is a smooth jazz; this version I think followed the key of its instrumental done by Dave Gruisin who happens to be one of my fave jazz instrumentals. Bravo!

Patti Austin is a CLASS ACT. She could very easily have held HER OWN with the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Sara Vaughan, Nancy Wilson etc....And the woman is Damn FINE!! If a man was only able to hear her voice and not see a photo or see her in person....He would STILL fall in LOVE with her.

I know we all love her for her jazz performances, but she is one of those artists that is not bound by one genre. I fell in love with her voice as a Pop artist and learned about her overtime. Nevertheless I love her as a jazz artist too😃
