Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on RU-vid, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on RU-vid. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on RU-vid, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

With as many great songs written in the 70’s, this is on of the most beautiful and memorable of the decade and that’s a pretty high bar to clear.

Another great voice silenced, the older I get the more great singers I mourn as my generation and the one above me starts to pass away. Makes me so depressed sometimes but it also makes the music they left behind even more precious to me.

That soft rock sound of the 70s is a very nice rabbit hole to tumble down. Bread, Lobo, America, The Carpenters and many others made that decade for most of us who were just kids at the time. I was 13 when this song was released in 1974. This one and "Come Monday" were my favorites that summer.

Dave Loggins, like so many of our generation before, was traveling the country hitchhiking when he had the great fortune to be picked up by a most beautiful hippie chick. She invited him back to the rural lakeside resort and campground her family operated along Watts Bar Lake in East Tennessee. He stayed with her quite a while. You can hear a bit of this history in the lyrics of another song from the same album, Girl From Knoxville, which actually is this girl from Rockwood, Tennessee. There’s suspicion she may be “the number one fan of the man” mentioned in Please Come to Boston.

You have it exactly right. The couple he sings about love each other but it will never work out, they are just too dissimilar. If she was foolish enough to pull up stakes and join him anywhere his rambling and restless soul would long to be off on the next adventure and she would then be somewhere she didn't want to be. And if he came back to the settled down life she wants he'd probably last at most six months and be off to wandering causing her fresh pain. As others have mentioned he passed away 5 days ago on the 10th of July.

Always liked this song a lot. Just sit back, listen and watch the word pictures play out in your mind. He was a musician/journeyman, hoping to make The Big Time. His real true love was back home all the time. Similarly, I'll mention Jim Weatherly's song MIDNIGHT PLANE TO HOUSTON, as a singer/songwriter in L.A. he was friends with Lee Majors and played in the same recreational football league, and Lee had started dating Farrah Fawcett. Jim calls Lee late one night and Farrah picks up - she was re-evaluating her own career and was packing to catch the midnight plane to Houston and Jim thought it sounded like some great lyrics and quickly came up with the song. Cissy Houston liked his song, but asked if she could change it to "Midnite Train To Georgia" - Jim agreed if they kept the rest of the lyrics intact. Gladys Knight and The Pips heard it and long story short, they turned MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO GEORGIA into a #1 hit in Oct. '73. It's a beautiful song, under Jim's, Cissy's or Gladys's recording.

It's an interesting quote from Dave Loggins. He wrote a song about not going home to a girl who wanted him, but in reality, he wanted a girl to call him home and he didn't have that. If he did have that girl, ironically I think he would go home to her. Beautiful song, and it makes it even better knowing his story behind it.

This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I think only one woman out of a 100 would say no to a guy she loved singing this poetry to her. World class voice and some of the most beautiful poetry ever set to music. He died just before you released this on July 10th 2024.

I hate to hear you say that what you do takes no talent. There are hundreds of RU-vidrs who make really bad reaction videos that will prove you wrong. You have an actual passion for music and can clearly articulate your thoughts and opinions about the songs you hear. The purpose of any piece of art is to communicate a feeling or idea, and every single video of yours I have ever watched hits the bullseye of that target. You're very good at this. Please don't minimize the great content you create, and the hard work you put in to make it great. Tipping to make sure you see this, and because you deserve it.

For another very good song in this same vein, check out the song; You're The Reason God Made Oklahoma, by David Frizzel and Shelly West. In that song, the roles are reversed, in that he's remained a farmer in Oklahoma while she's gone to LA to make it big.

Love this all time melancholy classic, although to me, the lyrics always meant me think the woman was extremely selfish in the song...He wanted her and his dreams and begged her to share their lives together and all she wanted was him and not to have his dreams and be all about her, her and her...
