I went to the NYC and NJ shoes and shows and was blown away, but monsters and it could happen was spectacular with the bands energy. Me and my gf who is a new dmb fan quotes this is our song

@@walterhundley8908 I hear you. But here's my blunt take as a fan since 1995... You have these kind of talented musicians at your disposal (Dave himself included). Why not take advantage of that fact? Make epic songs to fit your epic musicianship. They've had so many amazing moments in their live shows. Ethereal moments. The band isn't getting any younger. They're running out of time to make one of the best albums ever released by any band. I believe they're capable of doing just that. But this album just isn't that. Studio songs are dumbed-down. Look at all the great live versions of Break Free and this version is what they give us from the studio? Not great. Just listen to the live version of Monsters from Mexico and compare it to the studio version. The live version is worlds better. It doesn't have to be that way. Some of my favorite all-time songs by other bands are amazing studio songs. Free Bird, Simple Man, Stairway to Heaven, Hotel California.... then you have DMB's own Crush, Stone, #41, Say Goodbye, LITHOG, Dreaming Tree... etc. Sadly, none of these Walk Around the Moon album tracks come anywhere CLOSE to as enjoyable of an experience as any of the tracks I listed provided.

@@jrsmithbayberry8224 I agree with some of what you said I don’t think the songs necessarily have to be long like the last stop or drunken soldier, but they could at least be around the four or five minute mark. I think some of the songs sound great and have really good potential to get stronger lives. At least we can have the live version’s to listen to, but I do agree with you that they are Ray-Ban who is known for their epic music. They should stick with that and make longer songs for their albums.

@@walterhundley8908 I also agree they don't need to be extremely long. Some of the best songs are between 4:30 and 7 minutes. But this album feels like it's comprised of 12 intros or appetizers when it should be full of songs that each feel like the main course. I mean, look at one of their most successful songs which many consider "short"... Crash Into Me.... that thing was 5 mins and 16 seconds long. Which is about twice the length as some of these WATM songs.

I know it's not canon, nor am i race-baiting (cuz internet gets fiesty). I reminds me of how we all were aware of crazy shit during the pandemic, post-Floyd, and returned to normal as if nothing happened. Not a sjw, just a kid from Ohio. But like anything, it has to throw you when you make progress internally and/or interpersonally and at the end of the day, it's not much of a change as you would've thought.

This album is WAY TOO SHORT!... on a road trip this album is done playing by the time I leave my driveway!. This is NOT the DMB I have worshipped for decades. This album, for a musician like me, was a HUGE let down!. They simply bottled a bunch of songs we've already heard and slammed it out, and made a couple new 2 to 3 minute songs and packaged it. This is NOT the DMB album I was hoping for after sooooooo many years of waiting!. Great songs, but too short, and nothing new for true musicians and fans to appreciate. Swing and a miss for me...
