Break Free is actually an old one- just never had a “home” on an album. They do that pretty regularly- put old singles that weren’t ever officially released as a typical single- on new records. But it is absolutely an incredible, beautiful song ❤
@@tracy2762 In studio. There was a lot of time to edit it and wait for the record to come out. And they practiced a ton before that show. Not the first time the band played the song
My last trip to Florida was to see Dave Matthews in Jacksonville in 2019. Now I’m back in Florida for the theme parks and I just happened to open RU-vid and find this gem. Great tunes for post park relaxation.
I'm down in the hole again Trying to find a vein or something Hammering these walls and hoping Hoping I find my way through But what if I strike it Rich as I wanna be Will it set me free Or be just another hole to dig Owww I can't give up on this What am I sposed' to do Hammering these walls down here Trying to find a way out But what if I strike it Rich as I want to be Would it set me free Or be just another hole to dig What will it mean What will it mean What will it mean What does it matter But I can't give up on this Always trying to break on through This air is choking me But hammering is all I know to do Do you remember when all this digging began I can't stop looking But what am I looking at What will it mean What will it mean What will it mean What does it matter Maybe I'll find the vein Hammering these walls and hoping
I’m huge DMB fan. Listened to this new album all way through once. This is my favorite song so far. Love his voice etc. first take on the new album is I’m not going to like it as much as much as last one Come Tomorrow. Will see though sometimes takes several listens.
Gotta love he goes back to the wheelhouse of guitars for studio recording. But I think it’s the first time I’ve seen a Gibson. Wish he would go back to the Martin for at least dave and Tim shows. I mean, I get it though, good buddy of his makes guitars and Dave will go to the ends of the earth for his friends. I’ve played the Martin and the rock ridge, imho RB just isn’t in the same league, hence why Tim has always plays Martin ad +
me too. First 5 albums were bangers. Everything after "Busted Stuff" album has disappointed me so far. I'm crossing my fingers for this one. Although I'm not a fan of this particular song as of yet.....
@@ryanjones99 actually I did. Can't believe I left it out. Grey Street is one of my faves from that album. Maybe I should change comment to say first 5 albums...
@@chadmiller2224 I think most of the stuff post LeRoi's death is ehhh... Or maybe I am just really showing my age because my prime was the 90-early 00s LOL
Not criticizing just genuinely curious if others agree with my take. Maybe you just miss that time period? Life was a lot simpler back in the 90s 00s and I think hearing those old songs reminds us of that. For example I wonder sometimes if BTCS was released in present time if it would be as praised as it was then. We’re all naturally nostalgic. I personally think the instruments sound better on this album than in years but just my opinion.
Way to virtue signal with the useless facemasks, guys...Saw dozens of shows over the past few decades, but turned me off with your government issued "vaccine" card requirements for attendance. I remember a time when rock n' roll was the counter-culture. What a joke...
The amount of songs under 3 minutes on this album are a slap in the face to DMB fans. Shortest album in DMB history hands down. What gives guys?!.. As a musician, this album was a HUGE let down, super short, and just old songs slightly polished and quickly crammed onto a CD. As a huge DMB fan since the start, this was the biggest let down since they re-recorded the Lillywhite version of Captain. I listened to this album maybe twice, and then shelved it!, as it did not give me anything NEW to inspire me as a musician and lifelong super fan....
I agree. And their respect I think a lot of it had to do with Covid. They made this album when they were not together during the recording they were almost all entirely separated. Hopefully they will come out with another album with everybody together. It’s not bad, but it definitely can be better. I feel you bro.
