My 13 year old son was battling cancer for the 3rd time, and he and I would sing this every day at the top of our lungs in the car on the way to the transplant hospital for his daily treatments. He survived. Every time I hear this song, I think of those times. When DMB played it live a few years later while I was at their concert, (my first!) I called my son on the phone so he could hear it live. Thanks guys. Update: Thank you, EVERYONE, for your love and support. My son is doing well, all things considered, and I’ve now been to 6 DMB shows- 3 of them we flew out of state. All because we started to play “You and Me” in our car all those years ago, which I know in my soul helped him to survive..😊😭
My finace died the day before Thanksgiving in 2020. This was going to be our first dance. Today was the first day I got threw the whole song without breaking. I found him passed of a cardiac arrest. I dont think I'll ever get over losing him. This song just takes me back to our time together...Love you Jeremy..rest easy love

Every time I watch this video my eyes well up with tears at how beautiful it is that all of these people came together to play music. No politics, no hate, no division, just a bunch of happy people playing music with Dave Matthews. Pretty effing awesome.

My son got married about a month ago and this was their wedding song! My husband and I are huge DMB fans and them having this as their wedding song was so special. Hoping this blesses their marriage even more!

I’m laying in bed at 1:00am, and for some bizarre reason, this song came into my head and I had to hear it. I haven’t heard it in at least 3 years. When I was younger, my mom would play this and we would sing to it. I remember going on long drives and my mom would play this song on repeat just to annoy my dad. I completely forgot about this song until now, and I’m so happy I remembered it. Tomorrow, I will make my mom play it, and we will sing!

My father introduced me to Dave the moment I was born (2004) Constantly overplaying it and overplaying it until I finally understood what I was missing. I love this band with every fibre of my being and I have for YEARS. Carter got me back into my drumming, I owe so much to these guys and I can’t wait to see them again at my next concert!

This is a really cool video though I can't say that I hear all those instruments, LOL. To have DM present is enough, even if he is just standing there doing nothing! His cover of "You Can Call Me Al" is a classic for the ages. But there is NO song comparable to "Ants Marching..." ;-)
I still remember when I was 8 years old and my dad sat me down in front of our old windows silver computer thing, and played this video for me. And the other time when he was painting my room and I came in and this song was playing on a little ihome speaker. This song kept my life together watching my parents divorce, it means the world to me.

Every time I hear this song it makes me want to pack up and take a trip. Anywhere - just being somewhere other then in the daily grind. Life happens out there. Great, great song. Dave captures ideas and makes them magic in his music. Not many with this type of talent.

I love this song! I've been with my husband for 20 years & this song just hits home for us. My kids are almost grown, got one left to graduate. After that who knows? :)
