Menza even went as far as, recording and demoing drums on three new Megadeth songs that Dave had sent him that where later re-arranged / re-recorded by Lamb of God drummer Chris Alder, and released on the groups 2016 (Dystopia) Read video description for more details.
@@daryal1109you are absolutely right. He would've been winded after 1 song and pushed himself to the limit. People don't realize what heart failure does. That's why Dave called it off.
Remember it like it was yesterday. An exciting time for Megadeth fans, only to be let down. Nick really got screwed. Felt bad for him and fans everywhere afterwards. It was Dave’s loss for not making this work. RIP Nick.
@xPaPaDx wait dude I'm a little confused over your comment are you who are you talkin about by being the only member left sounds like you're talking about Nick menza but he passed away
funny how its probably recorded with cellphone and the drum still sounds better than RIP live DVD. Sadly, Nick definetely did have health issue at the time. I wish his heart problem could have been diagnosed. Some people loves to blame Dave on anything but why would he tried to reconnect with Nick twice? 2004 and 2014, he even let Nick jam at his house.
The first time I met Nick he was about 8 years old. I studied saxophone with his father (the famous saxophonist Don Menza), and Nick and his sister would be running around the house playing. The next time I met him was with Don at the 2016 NAMM show in Anaheim. My two friends and I went to dinner with Don and Nick. My friends were talking with Don and I started talking with Nick. He was a very nice and was talking about doing carpentry around the house being more of a family man. He was such a contrast to his larger than life famous dad and I had a great time talking with him. It was just two months later that I got the new about his passing. I will always remember Nick and that day at the restaurant. I know Nick will be missed by so many. RIP Nick Menza.
Regardless of how much Nich was my idol, we have to admit he was not ready and only the shadow of himself. He was not in his prime anymore. What he did in 89-97 is the true legacy.
They also played Rattlehead in which Nick messed up the beat at some point. This was confirmed by David few years ago. Nick admitted aswell but he explained that Dave just keep staring at him while he's playing as if trying to indimidate him or something. That made him feels uncomfortable. Its as if Dave purposely waiting for him to mess up.
This should have happen with Nick and Marty. Dave's ego and greed got in the way. Even thought Nick wasn't healthy to tour Dave should have had Nick and Marty play on Dystopia can you imagine what it would have sounded like with Nick and Marty, Menza would have put his magic touch on it and with Marty's over the top solos. We would have had a Rust in Peace follow up. It says that Nick Menza even went as far as, recording and demoing drums on three new Megadeth songs that Dave had sent him that o want to hear and hope they get released. Dave's a turd for not being part of Nick's documentary.
Ummmm Marty is clearly happy with his solo work and wasn’t 100% committed to coming back. Also Jr was involved with the decision to not bring Nick back. Has he said during the rehearsal to Dave “that was rough”.
@@samuelalvarado871 They Wanted Nick back read what it says in the video. They were telling me, 'You're back in the band. We'll do a press release.' And I'm, like, 'I don't wanna say anything until I have an agreement, a contract in writing of what's gonna happen.' And then they send me this ridiculous proposal stating that, 'You're not gonna paid anything until the touring starts.' So, basically, I was gonna work for nothing, doing the record.
@@evanwilliams6647 ok??? This stuff that was said when it happened. If you don’t believe me a quick search will show you what Jr had said about the rehearsal. You can also read the Rust in Piece book as well.
They should've just done the Rust in Peace reunion tour and left it at that. Marty could keep doing his thing in Japan and they could've told Drover and Broderick it was only for a short stint and kept them on the payroll. It would've been huge for the fans and Dave's bank account.
It’s a sad thing. I think the fans really wanted it to work out. I know I did. Marty and Nick were really special and the secret sauce for success In that period of the band’s career. It’s a hard thing for most non-pro musicians to digest the business getting so in the way and wicked.
but how they even get that idea on their heads that they not wanted to pay him for his work. that part is so damn messed and they have that money, they had money back then as they have now.
