Sometimes these places are busy enough as it is and don't want his 'help' . If the place gets too busy, long lines, short of help etc. It's bad for business not good.

She clearly does it because she takes pride in her work and wants to serve her customers to her best ability. I can respect that and relate. Back when I worked at a hibachi place I went at it with the same vigor. They didn't make me, they even told me I can chill, but going 100% I was more entertaining for customers and got better tips.

It’s a family restaurant. Joey is the dad, the wife, son and daughter work there with some extra help in the back. The other daughter has a spot in Spring Hill, TN. Only difference is the ovens and the staff. She was/is the X factor at Joey’s. Son spreads the dough. The dad is the mastermind and the wife is the utility player that can do it all They also changed their business into catering only. I’m hoping this is allowing them to enjoy their craft more than be in a constant cycle of busy

There's one thing to have the help but it's another thing to have the help to actually do the work to actually help

Could it be her place? Maybe shes growing it still?

Yeah, sadly this place is out of business; there's a couple videos on the site talking about it, and all the former customers they interviewed seemed mystified as to why they closed because the place was always slammed, and obviously a Portnoy endorsement is only going to increase business. Every time I watch the core video, I always try to find out if there's been an update, and I can never find anything. I don't think it was a profitability thing, maybe something happened inside the family and a command decision was made, I don't know and I can't say for sure.

I think it’s because Tennessee is going even further down the looney path. Government there is crazy.
