We're off the road but that doesn't mean we can't stay connected with all our friends out there. Here's some new music for you. We'll be posting more during the next couple weeks. #porchmusic #DaveStamey #Thesaddle
Sometimes you like a song and maybe remember it for a bit. Not often something grabs your heart and gives it a twist. The horse that wore this saddle for 20 years or more is long dead and gone but the saddle sets in the corner of the room, his bridle and catch rope hanging over it. I'm 77 years and sat my last horse when he died. I guess when I go the saddle will move on and maybe someone else will put another "10,000" miles on it. Thanks Mr. Stamey for the song.
Hey Dave ! perfectly written song. . My 4yr old daughter Keeley wanted me to write and tell you that you are her favorite! You sing her to sleep Every night . she just asked me if , when the virus is over if I could take her to see you😉 So I said absolutely! when you come to alberta or b.c. to play next . My brother told her him and my grandma jammed with you at a cowboy festival and she got so excited ! And ways just wanted to let you know about your biggest little fan and say thanks for singing her to sleep every night . This old world moves way to fast now indays and you slow it down for her and show her what the good life is really like and to keep tradition alive through your stories . I grew up around amazing horsmen and knew exactly what I was ment to do in life . But Life didnt go ask I expected for me you remind me of who I was born to be. And time to pick myself up and go ride my horses...thank you for that.
Wonderful music Dave! When my dad retired from Plum Creek Timber in Columbia Falls Montana, his retirement gift from the company was a saddle for future pack trips long dreamed of. Unfortunately my mother's cancer and her required care eventually took those dreams and dad sold that saddle along with pack saddles, panniers and gear. 8 years ago I happened to find the very saddle which was his retirement gift and bought it back. It was still brand new and not used. I have literally used that saddle for thousands of miles now and this new composition of yours is very dear to me after hearing it the first time! I have been blessed to ride that saddle the miles my dad should have. We took dad at 89 years old to hear and see you perform at the Montrose Elks last time you were in the Uncompahgre Valley. Just want to say Thanks Dave!
