I remember watching Swarbrick in Fairport Conention at Glastonbury Fair back in 1972. He was smoking all the time he was playing. When he was singing the cigarette was in his hand. I never saw him without that cigarette back in the day. Rest in Peace Swarb. We loved you.

thank you for this video of a truly innovative genius, who will never be equalled. The mould was broken on his demise. R.I.P Swarb.

Looked like the great fiddler was playing in a backwater folk club. A talent like Swarb's deserves a concert hall venue. It would be a sell out!

Swarb had decided to tour solo at this point so was a bit more limited in what he could present, I would say. He was on a short tour in Tassie and for some reason agreed to sit in in this venue at the last minute (it was actually someone else's farewell tribute) to do a short set. Why it was scheduled in the morning, I have no idea!

Does anyone know the name of the tune that starts right at the 32 minute mark? Love that tune!

The tune at 32:07 is a piece by the Irish harper/composer Carolan (1670-1738) called Lord Inchiquin.
