Seeing Dave Wyndorf at a Stooges show in1972 would almost be more amazing than seeing the Stooges in 1972.

My dad introduced me to Monster Magnet.... The music man... The music was like traveling in space (I'm not an addict don't worry) and Dave's voice was like an energy boost in your lungs.... I'm 20 years old now and kids my age are listening to this FAKE rap songs (which isn't music to me) and rnb (which I also prefer) but man, I'm still listening to that band and other rock and metal bands (Inquisition and Rotting Christ are my favorite) and all I have to say is..... Thank you dad for introducing me to Monster Magnet!!!!!!

I bought Powertrip off a whim when I was about 11 and didn’t understand a fucking thing about it. The whole rap-rock explosion didn’t give me a chance to explore it more. I held onto it and I revisited it a couple of months ago, and it’s unfortunate I didn’t know how great of an album it is. In retrospect, Dave is such a great songwriter, man. Such awesome songs.

He just described what it was like going on the train from Wolves to Birmingham to see a gig at the Odeon. or The Powerhouse in the mid 80s. There was a party atmosphere. You had a denim jacket on. You had the same band T-shirt. You were probably going to see the same rock show as the rest of the train. On the way back. You knew you'd all been to the same show because you were all buzzing. Similar with the 558 Bus to Dudley. Going to JBs. You had to get a cab back though as they had a late license so the buses had finished. This meant you had to get some mates together to go to the show so you could share the fare. The late license also means I should probably look up and apologise to the Staff of the Pathfinder shop. I did a fair bit of puking in their doorway :/

I'm always hesitant to listen to interviews with rock stars because a couple of times all it did was show me that they can be total idiots and ruin their music for me, but I'm really glad I checked this one out. Dave is wayyyyyy cool. I grew up in the 70's too and remember some of what he's talking about.

The epitome of what it truly means to be a rock STAR. Yeah he makes money, but he's not a sellout. His music has changed over the years, not because his audience wanted something else, but because he changed as a person. It's still Monster Magnet.

I was with to him at all these shows. We were best friends when we were kids. I used to drive the whole crew up to the shows because I was the only dude with a car [my dads] We saw all the great bands and had a killer time doing so..First row for Hawkwind, Stacia came and sat on my lap and hit off our joint while Dave just stared @ her double d's!! Or the night Iggy fell into the orchestra pit " It'll all be over soon" He kept yelling in his mike.We saw the best and witnessed history.

I'd love to see a conversation about rock with Dave Wyndorf, Lemmy, Ozzy, Dave Grohl (he's quite funny on the Lemmy DVD) and Henry Rollins. Just to sit somewhere, talk about how it was and is, and have someone film it. Imagine the insight gained from something like that!

"When I was a kid, when I was first going to shows - um - it was cheap. It was in expensive..." According to Dave, tickets in 1972 were $4.00, $5.50, and $7.00 Adjusted for inflation, to 2018, that equals $24.45, $33.62, and $42.79, respectively. I don't know about anyone else, but those are not cheap tickets. Right now, I can go to Bogart's Cincinnati (mid-sized venue) and get tickets for Queensryche for $25.00, or Ozzy Osbourne at Riverbend Music Center (Gen Admission - large arena) for $26.00. Seems that it's not changed much.
