In 1969 I was playing in the World's End bar on The Royal Mile, Edinburgh. I was with my pal Jimmy Alexander and I was playing guitar with my Levin mandolin lying behind me. Davy wandered in (he would be about 14 I think) and we had seen each other at the Buffs g club and the Waverly Bar. He picked up my mandolin and accompanied us as we sang Lord of The Dance or Mingulay Boat Song and Ill never forget it because his mandolin playing was was above everyone else. I'm so glad of his success.
Sister Marcella used to come on at the end of a radio show with the BBC when I was younger - I remember hearing it and my mum saying its time for bed now :D
