This is one of the most beautiful and well sung versions I've ever heard of this sung. Not overly done, nailing the high notes, and adding a dimension of passion and vulnerability to the emotionality of the song. Add to this the fact that David is not a native or even fluent Spanish speaker yet sings the song perfectly further adds a notch of excellence to his performance. Bravo David.. Well done. I look forward to when you record a full album in Spanish.

This is a perfect example of what makes David such an amazing singer. He has a true LOVE for music; in all of his performances you can see his respect and appreciation for each and every note, each and every phrase. Hearing him sing this song in Spanish --flawlessly-- makes me very excited about his upcoming work.
I am just dying. This is about the 10,000 I am watching and listening to this performance. It is by far one of the most beautiful performances of David's I have ever heard, and believe me, there have been many .. He is unbelievable. I only understand a word or two here and there, but it dosen't matter, his voice speaks to us all in a universal language. Love you David.
what is it about this video?? ahh, could it be David looks extremely handsome, impeccably dressed in his suit and tie, and dress shoes? or that he is sporting a great haircut? Maybe that his profile on camera is stunning?? or that his smooth silky gorgeous voice just melts you away, like butter?? He got an AMAZING VOICE NOW - What more when he matured. I know his style of singing will still change and improve as he mature. This youngman will be in the music industry for a long long time for he has a lot of things to offer. JUST BRILLIANT !
You can hear David's breathing because he had vocal paralysis. He trained and worked hard to sing again and to be able sing lots of songs in a row but one vocal cord is still partially paralyzed and underdeveloped. So his breathing is more audible than most people's. The same vocal cord adds a gorgeous texture to his voice. Amazing he got his voice back. His breathing reminds me of how much he wanted to sing.
Oh my God I did not know he was able to sing in Spanish, and I must say his Spanish is perfect. He articulates very well every single sound, including our "r" sound, which is considered one of the most difficult sounds in Spanish ...congratulations David, I'm sure you'll have a brilliant future, and Keep working hard ... no.. he's really amazing I speak Spanish, and I could understand everything he said.. he's so very good at singing in Spanish.. because I've heard other singers who tried to sing in Spanish and they are really bad.. but If I have heard his voice for first time I would never think he is american.. If David needs to close his eyes to get that much feeling into this beyond gorgeous vocal----so be it. It does not matter to me if his eyes are open, just as long as I can hear his melting, moving, emotional voice and see his beautiful, warm, and inviting persona. He is perfection to me!
I play this video every morning before I leave for work, watch it on my DVR taping of the show, while I have my coffee and then I have it on a CD so I play it a miilion times on my way to and from work. bgarc114, I think the breathing makes the performance more organic and "in the moment". It also makes David appear more real and more connected to the listener. It allows you to feel him as well as the song.
FYI - he only has one working vocal cord, the other is paralyzed, this restricts the flow of air and causes the wheeze and btw, his incredible tone. He accepts this fact and so do his real fans. If it is something you can't get passed, it will be your loss.
