i can only hope when his generation is old and gray david will be regarded as a truly revered singer of his time. to be able to speak and sing in two languages is a great plus for this guy. he truly seems to be flustered by all the attention and adulation he gets. in addition to his singing abilities it's another of his endearing traits. a long fruitful career for this bright, talented young man.
He's so gosh-darn gorgeous that it can be distracting. I just listened to this using headphones and with my eyes closed. It took me to a whole new dimension to this voice. It's heavenly.

Between David and the guitarist, the emotion expressed in this song is out-of-this-world. David did alot of performances in 2009, a few televised, but I have to say that this one is defining. Please make sure to support his next CD coming out sometime in 2010.

You do not have to speak Spanish to feel the emotion David puts into a song. You can actually feel him "crying" or"yearning" in this song. He has a unique ability to do this when he sings. I believe he puts his whole self into a song when he sings it, He goes "somewhere" else and takes us all with him for those few moments in time!!! It is not an easy thing to do but David can do it!! And the physical beauty of an 18-year-old David is a soothing and endearing sight. Yet, I wonder, what will a more mature, physically developed and spiritually centered David will bring back for us when he returns. I smile in anticipation.

This performance is perfection, I have listened to this over and over again and it just gets better and better. No other singer can match David's talent. I have gone through many singers from the 4o's to the present date and there is no one that can match him. His concerts are amazing and I have been to over 15 of them and he is poetry in sound and motion. Congratulations David for bringing beautiful music back into our lives.
Wow, I'm quite blown away by that. He's got a great timbre in his voice, really nice warmth in it. And he's got great control in terms of dropping between between belting and using his head voice,and his volume control - he's so composed too. Good for him, especially considering he's not had that many years of experience. And courageous to do it without backup singers and a band. Just an acoutic guitar and his voice. He has real talent. (hate to draw attn to this but how there can be any "Dislikes" of this, all I can say is I'm sorry for those 57 apparently deaf people.) If there is anything more beautiful that this performance I haven't seen or heard it. I have always thought David was the best singer to come along in many years but this performance gave us his heart and soul. And yes, his great beautiful looks can be overwhelming most of the time but his voice is so special he reaches out and grabs you and your attention never waivers. His sex appeal is growing more and more with each performance as his great talent.

I checked out Christina's version. Girl can sing. There has never been any disputing that. But I agree with samrlin. She tries to do a little too much with her voice. David has wonderful taste. His runs are always just right. They leave you wanting more. He's never trying to show us how well he can sing. He is more concerned with conveying the message of the song. His vocal maturity blows me away!
