For me, the best long range passing and dead ball passer ever to play the game. His technique and vision was otherworldly. Underappreciated and underrated.
Roberto carlos free kick isn't as good as it seems when you look at the stats. It's a sure highlight reels when it does hit the back of the net though.
Bro, R9 and Roberto LOVED becks passes and crosses. ALWAYS knows where they are and gets the ball to them. Also apparently hes their favourite and only english player. Mad respect to beckham.
He was so overrated by casual fans that people "in the know" underrated him to differentiate themselves. On the other side of the bell curve were the people that really knew what they were talking about, the people on the pitch with him
@@jayjay8845 he rarely ever even tried to dribble, at least as far as I can remember. Seeing him dribbling in general was a very rare sight. Tbf most of the time he didn't need to do it, he could place goal threathening crosses from impossible positions, he didn't need to come too close to the goal.
Beckham favourite footballer is Diego Maradona so it's not surprise he tried to emulate dribbling xD, but it was never his greatest feat but neither bad either.
If it’s 90s to 00s it ain’t “all time” mate. But yes, wonderful passer and crosser of the ball. United had two of the best in that team, Becks and Scholesy.
True said, but there's something that doesn't convince me that Beckham is a world-class player. He wasn't anything like Messi for sure. I find it hard to remember him for something.
Beckham will always be one of my favorite player of all time. I like man utd because of him. Kids nowadays will associate MU num 7 to CR, older ones will say Cantona, but for me, Man Utd num 7 will always be Beckham.
I think in England we used to think how great he was initially. Then we thought maybe he was overrated because of all the publicity etc. But since he's retired we've looked back and remembered just how good he was. Oh and one thing the video couldn't show was his work rate. Always 100%.
Yeah, I definitely had a growing appreciation of Beckham over the years. Always a professional, a hard worker and overall just a good role model all around. Madrid was struggling at the time but it was never his fault.
The beauty of a Becks whipper was the keeper always thought they had it so came for it, but the whip took it away leaving the keeps wrong footed for the finisher. Special guy
Yeah. It's not just the laser precision. The whip, the bend, the power behind the ball, so hard to defend against it, on the other hand - very easy for the striker, just has to place his head right. He's in another league when it comes to crossing compared to basically anyone.
Most underrated midfielder of all time because of his fame and good looks. He had the best right foot i have ever seen, incredible crossing ability, amazing vision and football IQ. He was a warrior on the field, always there to defend and get the ball back, never afraid to sacrifice himself for the team., he was selfless. I'm not even talking about his free kicks.
In Argentina we love Beckham, that goal in the world cup 2002 still hurts but we forget all our differences and appreciate what was for many Argentines one of the best midfielder in history
That cross at 1:10 is insane. Like the audacity to even try something like that, let alone put on the money so the keeper has to make a great save (a really good save turned this from a an all time highlight to just a Beckham highlight) was incredible.
How could some people say he was overated? He was one of the best free kick taker & crosser of all time... He also good in ball control, passing & long range... His consistency also good & give the big impact for his club achievement...
I've never seen anyone else play football the way Beckham played football. The fact is that this video could have been ten times longer, such was the quality of his long passes and crosses. Even now, there are people out there who don't appreciate his quality and work ethic. Put some respect on this man's name.
Beck truly is a footballing great, great work ethic, phenomenal crosser of the ball and great dead ball specialist. Wholly underrated by many but should be remembered as a true great of the game
Its true..Beckhm really was underrated during his time. Im Man U and Beckham fan, but I never really appriciate him like I do now. Looking back, he not only good in freekick, crossing and passing, but he also almost good in everything. His shooting was sharp and accurate. His long range goals was superb like nobody can do it nowadays..how I hope that he still can play until today.
Good analogy to get the point across but Beckham's delivery was levels above TAA's to be honest. No shame in that though, TAA's delivery is fantastic but Beckham's was by far the best I've ever seen.
For someone who is so clearly a Liverpool supporter I can't think of a higher compliment you could have paid an ex-Man Utd player. Fair play to you for recognising good football even when it's being played by a legend of your main rivals.
@@hasanalmousawi8830 so true. Fans nowadays compare TAAs crossing to Beckham and it's nowhere near Beckham's delivery, precision, curve, technique... Everything. Beckham is in another league compared to TAA regarding crossing and passing in general, there's not even a contest there. There will probably never be a better crosser of the ball.
Exactly. Plus the best free kick technique ever. With Beckham every delivery was pin point actually won Real its la liga title at a point when Real were not so great
David Beckham was one of the best midfielders ever,he ran his heart out for each club he was at,probably one of the best free kick takers ever, his passing was unmatched and a great goal scorer, one of the best just my opinion, and of course his goal against Greece was on another level
At this point a ridiculously underrated player. One of the greatest freekick takers ever, and genuinely quite possibly the greatest ever crosser of the football. Plus his technique is truly beautiful to watch in how elegantly he struck the ball.
It's not about the vision it's the technique and the perfect weight he puts on the pass. Anyone can have vision if they play football much but not everyone have the perfect technique for it
Many players had the vision like him, or even better, but when it comes to the execution of the pass, range of passing, including crossing etc, technique, there haven't been many better than him.
Practise Lots of it. After team training everybody went home , he didn't. . . . . (Man utd) that English club he spent the vast majority of his career at that they forgot to mention
@@mfaathih2249 better yes, but he said unique. Show me an other winger who has this kind of passing ability while being one of the best freekick taker ever (he is number 5 on the all time freekick goals list). Sure he wasnt the fastest or the best dribbler but he had a very unique style of play
@@danielpirez381 what are you talking about 😂 Kdb is better modric is better prime neymar was better iniesta was better kaka was better and not ever naming the obvious ones like messi and cr7 suarez xavi ect
One of the most underrated player.if he isn't a english or modeler there would be more respect for him.people know about his tatoos, hairstyles, his wife...etc everything about family but they really dont know what kind of a player he was.uefa footballer of the year, ballon dor runner up,2 times runner up for the mid fielder of the year, carried his whole nation when "PLaYeRs wHO are TaLenTeD" than him were flops to his country. I mean he's popular but the thing is he never got the respect he deserves as a footballer.ofc he was a modeler but he never combined it with he's football career.never put football to the second place.zidane, figo would agree with me. Always was a hard worker,He would die for the team on the pitch. Many pundits say he cant dribble,i dont know what were they watching???.but he lacked pace but he still managed to cover ground more than anyone.technically he has the record also. AND most importantly he was the only english player who rarely dived.and was the with less ego.ronaldo,rc will tell you if you ask.
You don't realise what you have got until its gone! I didn't buy into the Beckham hype at the time but wow I was wrong. This guy was amazing and had an awesome career. Brilliant footballer and a pretty nice guy. He was special at every club but particularly enjoyed the deep playmaker role at madrid.
After watching the series, I wondered how he played. His skill really is underrated because people were too focused on his good looks. But, if you see, the way he passes the ball, is world class. It's not always about how you goal ,but how you assist your teammates. 👏👏 The way people were booing him. I can't.
One of the best passers, crossers and goal scorer, ever, look what he achieved as a player, major honours at most of his clubs and captain of England, his goal against Greece is immortal, his passing and free kicks are on another level to most players
It does you good to watch his highlights reels occasionally. I love watching the number of times keepers come to claim his free kicks only to abandon half way as the bend takes the ball away from them, often to be headed in by those forwards lucky enough to have played with a distributor like Becks. Kicking the proverbial pig’s bladder round a field has rarely been executed better.
Dont know if I should feel sorry for beckham sometimes because the world remembers him for everything except for something he was actually a genius at which was playing football, he could be the most underrated player ever ,what teams would do to have a beckham today.
The best crosser of the ball. Top 5 free kick takers ever (even Carlos in Madrid and Pirlo in Milan let Beckham take the free kicks) Insanely good long passer, in my opinion the most elegant. And the thing most people forget, Beckham was a hard working footballer. He could run up and down all 90 minutes. Not the best dribbler with demon speed but he could make a difference in any top team as you dont get a player with his profile very often. World football is full of fast dribblers but short of true playmakers.
I use to watch him at united every week .And he was great every week .Someone should do a tribute of his united days.. There must be loads of footage out there.
Talk about a brilliant player who simply became bigger than the sport. He was a world icon. Everyone knows who David Beckham is whether you ever watched him play or you just admire how handsome and stylish he is.
En esos tiempos era normal ver caños y buenas jugadas por eso no se emocionaban los relatores ni nosotros…. peeo mirandolo ahora que ya es escazo pues vemos que beckham era una leyenda y su pie nadie lo tiene
Hail from Brazil this guy was a genius too underestimated because of his appearance it was an honor to see this guy sharing the lawns with the legends of Brazil 🇧🇷 🔥
underrated player. never about flashy dribbles or crazy goal scoring records but a real hard working player, he seems never run out of breath covering the whole pitch. When he were at madrid he revolutionize his game from being a traditional right winger at united into a deep-lying playmaker from the middle of the park, ping the ball yards away towards zidane, ronaldo, figo or roberto carlos and then later to van nistelrooy
Beckham's free kicks and crosses were very dangerous for his opponents. An Extra-ordinary Marksman at the field! I can just wonder how much every manager wanted a bit of his feet.
Sir Alex Ferguson testified that Beckham had the ability to run and work hard but he became a star because it was a side that Sir Alex did not like. I remember this period well, and even according to this video it is not surprising that Beckham would have invested efforts to help the team in defense, unique dedication that only he can, and fitness to run ninety minutes
Passer are always mocked as being lazy....but i once watch beckham and he cover the most meter of the field, same thing with pirlo...i used to think that he is lazy, but no...in order to be a good passer you must cover and fighting for ball too....so you can create the best pass...
Strength. Commitment. Courage. Accuracy. Vision. Tackling. Dribbling. Technique. Intelligence. Generosity in play. Loyalty. Long range pass. Dead ball sniper. And I'm Scottish.
beckham was sooooo under rated. should have won the balon dor over rivaldo in 99. he was easily the best player on the planet that year. for the kids who didnt see it, rivaldo winning the balon dor over beckham was a bigger robbery than messi winning it over sneijder.
