Man the craziest thing about this fight was the fact that Kenny was completely one sided and DB made no excuses. A couple times plant was holding David’s arm And he realized kenny wasn’t going to say shit so he just started beating plants ass with one hand Lol. Mad props to DB.

Kenny Bayless has ALWAYS been a bias referee! I am very bias in this fight but its the one time I was wanting Kenny to give Caleb more time to rest and he definitely did that. But he does this way too much and he never likes fighters who fight on the inside. He lets ppl hold too much but he definitely liked Caleb.

If the ref would’ve gave more warnings or took more points away for the holding, David would’ve stopped plant in less then 10 rounds. Bayless constantly allowing to hold onto his arms and body was the only thing that allowed plant to survive.

The clinching did more for Benavidez than it did for Plant tbh. It allowed him to get away with lots of holding, shoving, and elbows. No shame in it, because constant clinching is dirty in its own way, so fight fire with fire. At one point Benavidez was holding onto Plants arm and wailing on him with the other lol. That was savage. Props to David for turning Plant’s clinching against him.

Props to both fighters really great fight! I know benavides had predicted a knock out and mentioned that he was going to hurt plant Alot worse than canelo did but the difference was canelo did stop plant and it didn't go through out the 12 rounds Ending in a unanimous decision. It would be great to see benavides and canelo go at it. Like it or not canelo is a great fighter that's getting constant criticism but he's earned his way. Glad to see these two warriors squash there beef and give us boxing fans a hella of fight. If canelo isn't ready for benavides then charlo would be a good one for the Mexican boogie man. After the 5fh rd, CP was no longer a threat in terms.of DB getting KOd, heck I dont know if that was ever a thing. But the latter half of the fight, no threat. DB did pulverize him despite the antics by CP. Hard to work when getting tied up and held repeatedly.

I thought Plant would dominate the early rounds and have to survive the later rounds. He was only competitive in the early rounds and barely survived the late rounds. Congrats to David he really showed he belonged on the big stage and was very impressive over a skilled and rugged fighter.

Styles make fights and Plant’s style is a tougher matchup for Canelo than Benavidez’s. And this was easily Benavidez’s best performance to date, yet it proved he stand no chance vs Canelo. Sorry.
