I was about 3 years old and my mum took me to see David Blaine in London. I don’t remember anything else from that day but I remember seeing him and him waving at me!
Wow. I feel old now! I was about 15 at the time. I'll always remember it too.. for some reason it always sticks with me. I remember looking up and waving at him and he waved back. I think everyone who was in London at the time remembers seeing him in the box. London probably was quite different back then. This was actually the last time I was in London.
he's an endurance artist. this was real. it isn't his magic trick or illusion. to claim that as such would be disrespecting David Blaine as an endurance artist.
It was 19 years this week since David Blaine completed his London Bridge stunt. Surviving on just water for six weeks whilst contained 24/7 within a 7ft x 7ft x 3ft clear box hoisted high above the River Thames was an astonishing feat. Blaine was mocked, taunted and verbally abused whilst the clear box in which he was held was regularly attacked with missiles of all forms. Online Blaine Baiting websites & groups were created to discuss ways of disturbing his sleep, barbequing food close to his glass box to torment him amongst other things to intensifying his mental & physical suffering with the ultimate aim of 'breaking him' and forcing him to abandon the challenge but six weeks after entering the box, the box was brought down and a weak starved and 4 stone lighter Blaine was helped out before being rushed to hospital to begin his recovery. As much as some folk disliked the guy what he achieved was remarkable.
@@thegoodguy44It's true, he didn't eat at all for 44 days and lost 25% of his body weight. Not only that but he was also advancing on to the first stage of starvation because he tasted pear drops which is a sign that his body is starting to burn fat reserves inside of his body

@@thegoodguy44 He's an "endurance" entertainer not just an entertainer. He does things legitimately and there's multiple different proofs out there that he does it for real. You're basically accusing every endurance entertainers out there because David is genuinely some of the best, you're insulting every single one of them even Guinness World Record which has given him many different awards that they personally monitored themself for days on end. If you want to start bashing this guy then i suggest you look at his older videos first before formulating a lie because there's actual CROWDS of people watching him daily making sure he doesn't' cheat, hell you can practically eye ball them in his Frozen in Time video. I think the craziest part about this to me is that he didn't eat a single thing in those 44 Days. I can't even begging to imagine the boredom. I would be ready to call it quits after only a few hours. Much less a month and a half. David Blaine is incredibly tough mentally. He's one Badass Mother Fucker for sure and I'm so glad I was fortunate enough to grow up watching him do this crazy ass Shit. Guys like this only come around once in a generation if that.
It's called refeeding syndrome and if he ate that much imediately after he would probably go into shock and die. You have to start eating very very small portions at a time are your body can't handle it and goes into shock.
Michael c he probably trained his stomach and ate loads prior , if u starve your self you ain’t going to eat as much when u finally eat because your stomach would have shrunk
I one time attempted to go as long as I could not eating. I was only drinking water. I did it while living my normal life. Working, social life etc. I lasted 10 days and broke. I honestly just forgot about it until now. I never told anyone about it lol Also I obviously I wanted to eat so bad but I started with watermelon and slowly eased back to food
I guess peeing is to eliminate what your body doesn't need, so if you drink only water at a rythm that your body needs it you don't pee or you pee very little.
For pee, he would use a catheter or something similar. Not much of a mystery, he definitely would have peed lol stupid to suggest otherwise. As for poop, he would have stopped eating prior to this stunt in order to rid his body of faeces.
And what makes you think that? Because hes a "magician"? Hes an endurance specialist, it's what he does he doesnt fake his stunts. And if it's the fact he didnt eat for 44 days, people have gone without food for much longer periods with only water as he did.

I saw a comment about David doing more than just no nut November. Legend has it that Blaine doesnt need the use of his hands to achieve a climax. So during this stunt there are thousands of times where he could be openingly beefing the banana tree and you would have no idea he made eye contact with you while he doing the five knuckle shuffle.

Apparently his girlfriend was living in a caravan on the ground right below his box for the whole time he was there. That would have been reassuring for him. I remember newspaper photographers were there 24 hours a day, so if he thought he could wait until 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning before going to the toilet he was mistaken - the photographers were there then too.
I feel like this is a lot less impressive than what it's billed as. The record for fasting is 382 days, believe it or not. I've personally made it for 34 days when I was doing ministry work and after the first several days you don't even start to feel that hungry once your body starts breaking down fat. I'm sure that he and his team made sure that he was going into it with a very nutritionally rich diet that would have given his body everything he needed to make the process as painless as possible. Moreover, I'd say that anyone who has spent extended periods of time in solitary confinement without all the fan-fair has gone through something way more challenging, even if they did get to eat every day.
Human will is stronger than steel! But this accomplishment is very little beside who is performing hunger strikes in prisons under injustice for 8 months or more ...
We did have phones but they were more like bricks back then. It was better than haveing the world at the touch of your fingers life was just life not everything just simple
Ive done 40 day fasts because of cancer but you always pass bile and nasty shit through your system up to the first week. He might have detoxed before to bypass that stage but then he would run the risk of electrolyte loss which can be fatal. Wonder how he did it without passing anything?
I think its cool that he did that. It's actually isn't a big deal, drinking water only fasts are actually considered healing process for the body, maybe not for 44 days but few weeks most certainly. I myself fast often. Him doing this perhaps will make some people see that eating 3 times a day and having continues access to nibbles and be told that you must eat is totally silly, specially when we fall ill, we are told to eat for energy. But actually the opposite is true, notice that you lose appetite when sick, because the body wants to repair it self and not be busy digesting food. I encourage anyone who is interested to read on the subject of "Fasting" and try it out for them self, take blood test before and after and be amazed. It is also interesting that most religions mention and in some require fasting.
