Our nungeri, our law giver. I was lucky enough to have organized the "White Cockatoo" tour of the UK. I got to work with, learn from and laugh with David Blanasi for a good long time. And Cruzo Curdel, Jack Narwalil, Jack Nurandilli.... I miss them all, but I still see David, in my dreaming and he's with me when I pick up a stick ;)

When Geoff Tull brought them on tour of North America, during their stay in New York City performing at the Symphony Space on Broadway and 95th street, they all blessed me by staying with me in my 1 bedroom spat in Bay Ridge. David could look right through you with those soul seeking eyes which I could have sworn were blue as they glowed with their own deep sky light. I was gifted two of one of his son’s Digs and must get back to playing them again.

David Blanasi opened the traditional didgeplaying for me, so he's my alltime hero. Greetings from Germany. Olaf

The orange didgeridoo that is on his last CD is sold to Jan Terpstra in the Netherlands but before that he (Blanasi) painted the digeridoo totally black. I´ve met David Blanasi twice in my life. Once in London UK and once in Tilburg the Netherlands. I´ve sculpted his head full size and painted his face on two large dotpainting like panels

THe light skinned fellow who seems so awkward is one of the stolen youth who had returned to his people, the Wugalar of Northeast AUstralia. David Blanasi, the shamanic master Dig player would not come on the tour of NOrth America without this man. The man was on a journey under David's help to find his dance. You must find your dance which you must dance as best you can as you are dying in order to journey to the land of the Ancestors. Geoff Tull who brought the White Cockatoo group over at one point began to tell people about this. We all need to find our authentic dance to connect with and honor where we came from.

@@davidlane5267 hey David. Just seeing this now. I apologize if I got this wrong. I asked Geof what was going on with you since you seemed somewhat awkward snd unsure as you danced with the others. Geof told me that Blanasi wouldn’t go on the tour without you and that it had to do with you finding your dance. Perhaps I misunderstood . I told Geof he should explain that to the audiences since many had the same impression I had. Once Geof told me that, I was so moved and at the next performance, I was totally spiritually rooting for you to become secure in your dance . I actually recommended to a big conference of Psychodramatist meeting in Oz later that year that they open the conference speaking about the fairly common task for many indigenous people to find their dance or song that they would sing or dance as they were dying to join their ancestors and that they invite a revered Didg player and drummers to play while everyone got up and explored their own movements to find their own sense of physical celebration to offer to their lost ancestors as so many had been so far removed from their indigenous past. Thanks for taking the time and effort for your correction of my post. So much has been lost of the great contributions of the original people of Australia . It has been my blessing to have been touched by you and your spiritual brothers and father. My sadly deceased friend and brilliant courageous writer Janine Roberts zagria.blogspot.com/2008/03/janine-roberts-1942-journalist.html ( Jan Roberts on one book Re her book Massacres to Mining www.booktopia.com.au/massacres-to-mining-jan-roberts/book/9780955917714.html) wrote great volumes about both the greatness of the original people and the tragedies of their colonization.

Also, I think and am not sure, that the ash that covers most of the body of the dancers and Blanasi is for protection from ghosts and others that might invade these sacred doings. It's not just a performance.
