David Boice Converts to LDS Church & Why I Had to Cancel My Utah Trip 

I took my name off the LDS church rolls in 2020, but I’m getting rebaptized this Saturday. Thanks for your videos that’s helped rebuild my faith. I came upon David’s channel and his faith journey to the church has been amazing and inspiring to watch. God is truly moving in His church. Keep up the great content.

David Boice is a great man! I am so grateful to have him as part of the ranks cause he is my type of people, loving and open arms.

David seems to be a sincere seeker. It is clear he was looking primarily for a kind, welcoming community of people who love Jesus. If he found it with the Latter-Day Saints, then I wish him the best on this next stage of his journey.

David Boice joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a testament to both his goodness and sincerity and the truthfulness of the Church! It is not so much an indictment of evangelical Christianity as Steven suggests.

David B is a fantastic person and has been living the teachings of Jesus Christ for a long time. The church of Jesus Christ is the perfect fit. Any faith group would benefit from having him in their congregation, any neighborhood would benefit from him as a neighbor. I hope he starts a “Come Follow Me” page. He’s a great teacher of the scriptures.

I noticed that most of those who comment on your video are LDS, even though this is not an LDS podcast. "If there is anything vertuous lovely or of good report or praise worthy, we seek after these things". Your podcast is an honest and a "good report" of those of faith regardless of what that path that faith has taken them on. Thank you for that, praying for your well-being.

As a missionary my favorite thing to do was visit other churches. I went to all of the mainline Christianity churches, catholic, jehovahs witness, southern baptist, seventh day adventist, pentecostal and non-denominational. As a missionary I was invited all the time and i jumped on every opportunity because it was a great way to meet new investigators and it strengthened my testimony so much. Few things strengthened my testimony more than visiting all those churches and just comparing them pound for pound vs. The church of jesus christ of latter day saints. When I heard about David I just knew he was going to join lthis church because I could tell he was a sincere seeker of the truth. Spend enough time doing what David did and you will come to find it is true. I encourage people to do what David did. Decide you sincerely want to know the truth and then visit as many as you can. You will find it with clarity just as David did.

Steve, I do believe God is inspiring you to bear this cross of bringing us all together. This is part of 2nd coming preparation. I love your effort to bring people together and have conversations that help heal 🙏🛐💟

I am a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I occasionally listen to your podcast. My first experience was when the Utah Church bought Kirkland temple, and Navoo properties. I was impressed by your request to handle the sale with gentleness and kindness. I watched David Boyce’s podcast about his conversion process Just before this podcast. I am impressed with your ask for Grace, kindness, and respect for David’s decision. I don’t think it’s an indictment on the Evangelical churches. There are many good churches and people. However, I don’t think anyone makes such a drastic commitment without deep prayer and study and receiving and answer from God. I think it’s a testament to the truth of the Book of Mormon as the word of God and the restoration of His church.

Steven, I am a progressive liberal protestant (the calvinistic branch) from the Netherlands. I studied theology and worked in the religion field. But I, with many others, did't know a thing about mormonism. In Europe the influence of the lds is very marginal. In the corona-period I had time to 'walk' through youtube and out of curiosity watched some mormon info video's. And I was amazed about how many lds people there are and how serious they are about their religion. A whole new world for me. Just like you I love to cross bridges and meet others searchers. But I find it also so interesting to see how a religion, i.c. lds, starts and develops, certainly also because it's still a very young church/religion. How judaism developed, how christiany developed etc, that's for part stilk guess work. All the details and context then that contributed to the establishment of thise belief systems are so far back. But now with Mormonism a lot more facts are available. And maybe America was in need for her own belief system, planted in american soil, representing american values., like catholicism and calvinistic/lutheran protestantism find also a base in the old european values+philosophy..Because of informing myself about mormonism(with respect!), I am also able to look more clearly to my own position towards christianity. Steven, I like your video's very much. In the search we find! Good recovery🍀💚

I'm always happy to hear when someone converts to the church, but I'm also extremely grateful for folks like you who respectfully stand in their own space and shine a light on both sides. Such content is more important than is given credit for. This is why I don't bother hoping, anymore, that yourself or Jeff will convert; we need you as allies and friends of the faith, not necessarily members.

If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent." Revelation 2:4-5 I believe that many Christians have forgotton their first love "Jesus". I dont see this in the LDS church, they love "Jesus Christ with a passion that I have not witnessed in other churches. I have been on a similar spiritual journey as David and have been attending the LDS church, I have been attacked and warned by many of my evangelical friends and alot of angry and horrible things have been said about the LDS church by these Christians. I am appalled and can see why many have left the evangelical churches. I am going to take the step and get baptized as soon as possible, I have found my Church family and am grateful for Davids honesty and love for all beleivers and am happy to hear he has taken the step also! 🙏💖✝

I love being a Latter Day Saint. I left the church when I was 18. Came back 2 years later and left again for 8 years. In the midst of it all, I did search out a lot of churches. I see some comments by a 'Richard' in the live chat talking about inactivity rates, to correct the record, the LDS Church has a 67% activity rate of its 17 million members. The church has grown 70% since Year 2000, and the activity rate has stayed statistically the same (65-70% over the last 20 years). So his comment about 90% of new members quitting in the first few months or the first year does not hold true in the face of real facts.

Steven, why do you feel that David joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is an indictment of Christianity? The LDS Church is a Christian church. Finding a church is more than just feeling at home with a community to worship with. It also means embracing the doctrine and beliefs. David joining the LDS Church is not an indictment of Christianity. His joining IS a testament to the validity and witness of the Holy Spirit to those who are ready to hear.

I seen David's videos when I was still active LDS. Sure seemed sincere to me.

It’s easy to build Zion when you walk in the same church belief system. The hard thing is to be of one heart and one mind with others who have different beliefs. Just wanted to say thanks for addressing the topic of not attacking anyone for where they are on their faith journey. So true. With regard to David Alexander, I really have appreciated his understanding of how the Bible ties in with LDS doctrine. In addition to my experiences with the Spirit and feeling God's presence in my life, David's scriptural insight has helped refine my testimony of the restoration more than it had been previously.

"Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly," Great job David!! Trumpets in heaven are sounding off. The journey just began.

Hang in there. I get it. A couple years ago when I was 32 I consumed a tainted beverage which did some damage that did not really effect my life until 6 months later when my colon which had hardened suddenly softened and all hell broke loose. I was sure I was going to die or what I perceived as worse (living a subpar existence). Since then my legs don’t regain fat and much of my body, my muscle in my back has atrophied, and I have limitations for how I can abuse my stomach but I live and have even had twins since then. Everyday is a battle because I never know what will get irreparably worse as there is no trajectory for my condition which feels very bespoke (doctors don’t have answers). The LDS Church saved my life as well though because it gave me the courage to live through the pain and suffering and be a better husband, father, son, worker, etc. Just yesterday got some serious back pain from having to carry my twins…but I soldier on. Keep fighting the good fight, SP.

Two youtube personalities whose names are both David (Alexander & Boice) were baptized to the Church. I've been watching their youtube channels and they are really so inspiring to watch. They are really proofs that you would receive the truthfulness of the restored gospel if you are an honest seeker of truth and humble to receive it. The Spirit will testify to you.

I have been following David’s channel since the first 52 weeks! I know he has stated that he is not a church “critic,” but his visit reports really did show how some denominations are clearly dying, especially the Seventh-Day Adventists and Christian Science. Sad, as there are many interesting faith traditions that are fading away. Sorry for your health issues, Steve.

I wish you healing from your tinnitus. I’ve had tinnitus for decades. The doctor back then said it was from the very bad cold I had causing damage to the cilia in my inner ear. It has never affected my hearing and I’ve gotten used to the noise. When it first happened, I thought I was hearing crickets. Then I realized there wouldn’t be crickets in the winter.

I believe you’re doing this for a reason. Hope your ears will mellow so you can continue to give hope and unite believers.

I hope you feel better, I'll keep you in my prayers. I second the idea of seeking a priesthood blessings of healing.

So sorry about your condition. Makes my own problems seem so minor. I'll pray for you. As to David Boice. A friend who watched the video of his visit to the Manti Temple told me that she thought he would convert.

I have a special needs girl, 22 yrs old, almost 100% non verbal, has the same ear problem... serious stuff. You are in my prayers.

My kids doctor said a good remedy is a few drops of olive oil in your ear a few times each day, whatever is in there should drop out after doing it for a couple days. Hope your tinitis gets relief soon. Thanks for your candid and kind videos, your calm and thoughtful reviews.

The only thing is comparing who has the real truth. We each are looking for our own truth.

My tinitis is a hissing sound. I woke up one morning without it, and i thought I was dead.

Go back to that urgent care and get a prescription for sinus infection (non fungal) I had the same problem in Florida and got no relief until I insisted on the prescription. They did clean the wax but that wasn’t the real culprit. You need to clear the infection first.
