Such referencing of Arabs adds credence to recognition of a place and a a people that through a Roman slur became known as 'Palestinians' - giving that term/name some weight. I don't think you have the full context to understand. Obviously the US sends weapons to Israel (it also sends plenty to other countries). Also, while the help the US gives is very real, it's not a one way street. Israel provides a lot to the US although giving the size of Israel, its not so much in terms of quantity of money. But more generally what Taub is trying to say is that there s a shift in American vision of its role and strategy. Democrats are falling prey to their own woke cult, they are trying to seduce the muslim vote in key states and have this lalaland vision that apeasment with a bully regime (Iran) will guarantee tranquility. The policy of appeasing Iran appears to be influenced by individuals sympathetic to the Islamic Republic within American government and media.
