This recording is a parody. Bowie and Presley never met. Bowie did attend a Presley gig in the early '70's in full Ziggy regalia drawing the perturbed attention of the on stage King. Later in the '70's there was talk in the Presley camp of approaching Bowie to pen a song in the vein of "Golden Years" for Presley to record, but this never eventuated. On learning of this years later Bowie was said to be quite abashed and moved. Bowie would go on to say he regretted missing an opportunity he'd had to meet Elvis. May both these greatly missed gentlemen rest in peace.
