Indeed...so do all the band members in the other tracks from this concert. David Bowie must have been a great guy work for, and an easy with guy to work with...May he rest in peace.
RIP David loved you from the time I first heard you and when I had the pleasure of meeting you in London in 1981 you made me happy it was better than any Christmas present. You are now out of pain and amongst the stars singing with the angels..... RIP Starman.....
I don't know how anyone who knows and loves this song would not think this was just plain kick ass spectacular. Live sound engineering and back up bands are finally catching up with Bowie's musical vision...not that you can see music, but I think you know what I mean. Excuse me as I listen to this again to see if it is really real...
This guy and Ziggy Stardust are two COMPLETELY different people!! It's so wierd watching an interview of this legend of a man in 1973 for instance and 2004. O.o Haha. but I admire him SO much ^_^
YES INDEED/! Mick Ronson actually played that riff higher up the fret-board. I will continue to play it the easy way. I am a street musician with my guitar, fortunately I live in a pretty open-minded city so people don't look down on me with disapproval.
I don't know how many people have special experiences on this song, but it's true: has deeply affected the collective imagination. The Bowie's ineffable ability to access beyond space and time known (in a hermetic form that allows everyone the flight of a free interpretation), donating Art from his Dream also through harmony of technical expertise, causes that from an inexpressive stardust we can open new doors, see the Music: a creative energy that reveals other dynamics. Maybe... Thanks!
@rivariad LOL ... Even a great artist changes over time, as all. Bowie has always given great and increasingly aware performance on this song, one of his immortal masterpieces. He's also always been very careful about choosing the components of his bands, as well as on the musical arrangements. Making comparisons on tens of years is absurd, useless, index of backwardness... sterile. Thank you!
Please, for any comment regarding the video, or other Users who comment, I would like a language respectful to whatever opinion: obviously you can express yourself freely, but not with a phrasebook vulgar and offensive, because this is a music site, not a talk show of the lowest order. Otherwise I would be forced to remove the comment. Thank you.
@StratosCastr well I guess Trevor and the 2 Mick's weren't available so David done the best he could, and their worst is better than our best so I'll live with whom he chose. Play on Mr. Jones!!!
+Jonathan Gomez HIs name is Mike Garson. He's been with Bowie since 1972. He's contributed Piano/keyboard tracks to every cd recorded by the Joey O band from Indiana. I was the lead singer/bassist for that band for 2 years and recorded the 'Bad Habit' CD
He also played with The Smashing Pumpkins on their Machina Tour, before they split in 2000. Amazing addition to the band. Listen to their show in Paris: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MuBpjv0Tj6g.html
What was your first album? Mine was "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars". Best choice I could have made. Still consider it that today.
*Chameleon of Change**Hero of Harmony**Inspiring Innovator**Originator Outstanding* **Master of Mystery** Ziggy played Guitar Spiders on Mars !!! Bowie's outrageous and brilliant music!! R.I.P. Leader and Legend or Real Rock The Moon always glows, the Stars are Out Tonight, Dancing in Space. Spaceman. Starman. from the 20th Century to the 21st Century. Accepting ALL.
When the kids had killed the man we had to break up the band. Who writes such great songs these days? DB - gone but not forgotten but when the lights are way down low, lean back on your radio some cat will be laying down some rock and roll with a lot of soul he said .. that weren't no DJ. That was hazy cosmic jive. My favourite Bowie album. You're a rock and roll suicide!
