Harvesting sugar beet in Suffolk on the 31st of October 2020 in some rarther sticky conditions with David Brown 880 selectamatic on a Ransomes super cadet harvester and David Brown 990 selectamatic carting off with a salop trailer.
Really nice to see two well made machines still working hard and doing what they were made to do. They did it in the day they can still do it today solid workhorse. I have an 880 brilliant tractor.
Mint condition ! Thanks for taking care of those DB tractors. I live in Quebec-Canada. I own a David Brown 880 Selectamatic completely restored. They're very nice when they look brand new. But if I had to do it again, I would rather choose the 885. Mostly for the power steering and 12 speeds semi synchro transmission.
Hello Anthony I know your a big David brown man so quick question do you prefer q cab model with the gears on the side or weather frame cab with the gears in the middle? Thanks
I love the "twin" David Browns. Meltham made them right! The beet harvesting machine? Not so much. I was seeing whole rows of "topped" beets (tops sheared, beets left in the ground) left in the field! Just more "agricultural waste"?
