In my opinion David Byrne Is one of the best musicans EVER. He can mash african beats, latin with funk or rock and IT SOUNDS AMAZING! And he's been doing this for 4 decades and he still makes amazing music It's just amazing. He Is the true Mr. Worldwide
*Is NOT CASUAL THAT Anthony Kiedis from Chili Peppers INDUCTED Talking Heads to the ROCK N' ROLL HALL OF FAME* Ceremony. He is one of the American fathers of the Funkifikation of New Wave.
Wonderful CG effects done by Pacific Data Images, who also did the morphing effects in various commercials and other music videos, such as Michael Jackson's Black or White, and went on to make animated classics, such as Antz, Shrek, and Madagascar.
qw000pz they are wondering why he has 3 pockets on Utopia tour. Someone suggested he kept snacks in there and I said I don't think he would fit his lunch box in there😂😂😂 he must use it for his plectrum😂😂😂 p.s I think you would have jerky moves with a rocket in your 3rd pocket lolx
Absolute genius. Every time I am about to hit next Mr Byrne's song I need to consider I am going to hit the reply button like dozen times till I got tired of another masterpiece of his creation. Thank You Mr Byrne for uploading. All I am sad about is that I discovered Your great sense of writing songs that late. Live long genius.
Just brilliant stuff- when did this come out- like 20+ years ago? Still more creative than 99 percent of the stuff out there nowadays... By the way, I checked- it was 1992
Am I the only one who thinks it sounds like Kramer from Seinfeld is singing this? Lol. The voice...especially the last verse ...sounds so much like him, I can picture it in my mind.... “...with a hammer!” 😂
[Verse 1] Bangin' his head Stab in the back Look her in the eye and Buddy, you can tell she's crazy Smack in the face Look at 'em go Take a look around and you can see I don't mean maybe If sex is a weapon Who's winnin' this war? My legs are too tired I can't run anymore [Pre-Chorus] She's mad She's sore I'm getting out for sure My time Is up I just can't stand this stuff [Chorus] Said look where you're goin' You don't even know what you're knowin' Look where you're goin' You don't even know what you're knowin' Oh now darlin' [Verse 2] Heaven's above Look out below B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B - Baby Fell on his back Rubbin' his head Pretty little girl; sure as hell she ain't no lady I'm mild as a bunny I'm meek as a lamb You lead me to slaughter I'm mud in your hands [Pre-Chorus] I know I say I'm findin' out today Someway somehow I'm gonna pull you down [Chorus] Now look where you're goin' You don't even know what you're knowin' Now look where you're goin' You don't even know what you're knowin' Ooh now darlin' [Verse 3] All over the house All over the town Bit him in the hand and he turned around and hit her with a hammer Flippity flop Now when does he stop? Now here they come again And that's the way they live together [Chorus] So look where you're goin' You don't even know what you're knowin' Look where you're goin' You don't even know what you're knowin' Ooh now darlin' [Chorus] Look where you're goin' You don't even know what you're knowin' Now look where you're goin' You don't even know what you're knowin' Ooh now darlin' [Chorus] Look where you're goin' You don't even know what you're knowin' Look where you're goin' You don't even know what you're knowin'
this song makes me feel the same as what I feel when I hear "Ashes To Ashes" by Bowie the video, the music, the sound, everything feels weird and something inside you tells you that nobody here should be okay and work but somehow it does
I can't believe that after 30 years I found this video clip, I was 9 years old and this song had an impact on me, my mother even fought with me at home because I kept putting the video cassette on replay to listen to it countless times. I miss you... A family friend recorded music videos for the MTV channel and he lent the videotape to my sister, in the same videotape that contained this song by David, there was also the song More than Words by Extreme, a song that was most popular high that year.
It has probably been two years since I last watched this video! I do that after I've watched it a few times. Then I watch it, just like I'm doing right now, AND, it gets to the 2nd chorus, and the horn section comes in, AND I REMEMBER WHY I LOVE THIS SONG!! The part that the horns play is PERFECT!!!!!!! I DON'T KNOW WHY IT GETS TO ME EVERY TIME I HEAR IT, BUT GET TO ME, IT DOES! BOOKMARK IN PLACE!
These music video uploads are awesome! What would be even more awesome is to have music videos with a commentary track. I'd really like to hear David's, Tina's, Chris's, Jerry's (I hope the old gang is on good terms by now) and even production team's insight on these music videos. Keep up the good work!
Wishing I couldn't relate to this song. Thanks, could have heard this when I was 18, I managed to divorce and get a restraining order, but she's still at it 18 years later. And dragged child support into it crippling my ability to earn, I've been trying to raise money for a paternity ever since, but can't earn enough to even make rent. Currently I'm doing volunteer PCA work for my Mom. Basically been keeping her alive. After this? Back to train hopping and roughing it I guess. At least currently I get a couple hundred a month which is more than a full time job. :) Well.. For me working a full time job at minimum to 15 dollars an hour that is. I know they aren't supposed to take that much, but tell them that. As of now though I'm on disability for PTSD. The stuff being thrown at him brought back so many memories. Put in some punches when you're sick and hair pulling and poisoning and stalking and chasing with a knife and it will be closer to my story.
I missed your last tour and do not see any upcoming gigs. I live in Connecticut and would love to hear you in person. Would appreciate any updates. Thanks!
Wow, I'm 34 so I never got to see David Bryne when he was in his prime but talk about ahead of the pack... brilliant that live version of physco killer in New York ( that human insides suit).
It'd be the shit if David Byrne won a CMA. Better than any tractor rap bro country shit ever conceived. Totally off point. Just think that would be the nutts. I'd die laughing. All this coming from a Death Metal/Grindcore guy. Keep up the good work David.
