My husband and I listen to this daily also, I guess because it perfectly expresses how we feel. We are 68, and 71, and have loved David's music and lyrics all these 46 years together. Rock on.
I’m 19 so I’ve never had the chance to catch david bryne live, but if I ever do and I really hope that I’ll get the chance to see him and hear him play naive melody.. cause if he does, I will cry my eyes out
I thought the same thing being young but having been raised watching stop making sense. I was 25 when I saw him Glasgow on the American utopia tour. it was honestly a one of a kind show. if you can, see him in person. it's an entirely different experience.
Any additional yammering you are about to share with us is simply your own interpretation and will never stand up against his actual spoke and written words. Moving along...
OMG . is it about the falsities of a dead relationship?..I didn't know that..fuck I thought it was about longing, belonging and warmth..fuck it all to hell. you have enlightened me and ruined this song for me or have you just given me a new appreciation for it ? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Tosca Strings. They performed with him at an amazing outdoor venue in Grand Rapids MI years ago (probably during this tour) One of the best concerts ever.
They were with him for the Jools Holland show appearance I England too. This and that renditions are the best IMHO. And there are a LOT of great versions of this tune.
Home is where I want to be Pick me up and turn me around I feel numb, burn with a weak heart Guess I must be having fun The less we say about it the better Make it up as we go along Feet on the ground, head in the sky It's okay, I know nothing's wrong, nothing I got plenty of time You got light in your eyes And you're standing here beside me I love the passing of time Never for money, always for love Cover up and say goodnight, say goodnight Home, is where I want to be But I guess I'm already there I come home, she lifted up her wings I guess that this must be the place I can't tell one from the other I find you, or you find me? There was a time before we were born If someone asks, this is where I'll be, where I'll be We drift in and out Sing into my mouth Out of all those kinds of people You got a face with a view I'm just an animal looking for a home And share the same space for a minute or two And you love me till my heart stops Love me till I'm dead Eyes that light up Eyes look through you Cover up the blank spots Hit me on the head
ON POINT OMG The best song ever. He is the best EVER. From his voice to the violins to the drummer and guitar. AWESOME. Sick of today's music. This is the best!
Damn, RU-vid is reading my mind now. Yesterday this song was stuck in my head for no apparent reason and this morning it's in my recommendations. Thanks, YT, I hadn't seen this one.
that really was an excellent string arrangement. usually when you orchestrate rock songs something kind of falls away... but here everything really come together nice
This is my first listen to this song. Wow, it looks like the string section are so into it. Then in turn, David Byrne is into, then in turn, the rest of the band is so into it. They all end up being so into it. Cool.
