I loved the Davy Crockett shows on TV when I was a kid. That is a huge park. Haha love the rocking chairs for old folks like me. And nice being right on the water. Looks like a nice place. The old buildings are cool. Plenty to do and lots of room. Nice memorial.
Hey Dee thanks for watching. Oh yeah that was a great show. This place is amazing and very well spread out. I love a good rocking chair as well. Nothing better than some people watching. lol. The water was great. This place was great all around. If you ever find yourself on the east side we highly recommend.
Thanks for watching and for sure a hero. I am a big history nerd myself. We for sure recommend anyone checking this place out. Hope y’all are doing well.
Hey hope you guys are doing well. Thanks for watching. We have had a blast at this park. Having the full hookups makes us feel spoiled. The park is amazing as well. State park with full hookups. Can't hardly beat it. We highly recommend. Let us know if you deicide to come to the area. Would love to see y'all and the pups of course. lol
Hi friend. We really enjoy your campground reviews. We like how real you are. We love campgrounds right on the river. Glad the donkeys didn't eat the camera. 😀The area with the homestead is really neat. That's probably pretty cool when the interpreters are there.
Hey thanks for watching and the kind words. This place is really cool. I do try to keep it real. The river made sleeping great. The donkey really wanted a bit. He was super cool. We went back down when the workers where there. It is really cool. Did not get any footage though. Tons to do and see there.
Hey thanks for stopping by drinking buddy. lol. Yeah we can't wait to meet up with y'all again either. This is a very cool place if you can get it on your pathway between job sites. Y'all will love this place.
A very nice State Park. We love the sight and sound of the river! Such a relaxing sound. There are many expensive campgrounds that don't offer amenities or such nice landscape as this State Park. A must visit for us. Stay safe guys! Paul & Magen
What's up you smoking cool RU-vidrs? lol Thanks for stopping by. This place is great. Right on the way to Sevierville as well if you all are coming this way again. Nice stop over. I agree on the amenities. Plus this one runs us about $25 a night. Can't hardly beat that price. I think you will like it here for sure.
Fantastic open area! Your dogs must just love it here. Great campground and review! I love that they have the homestead and memorial there- but the animals being there is even cooler!
Hey thanks for stopping by. The pups are for sure loving it. Thank you for your kind words. Yeah there is a ton to see and do at the park and in the area. Your kids would love it for sure. Plus not to far from you.
This looks like a great park! I would totally stay here. I love camping by water. Loving the little old cabin. Animals! Bonus!! Very cool all the old rustic looking shelter awnings and stuff. Neat park! Thanks for sharing!
Hey y'all thanks for watching. Yeah it is great. Full hookups and a nice state park with tons to see and do. You can't go wrong. Thanks for stopping by and watching. Hope y'all are enjoying your travels.
We passed this state park after camping with the two of you at Warrior's Path. I really want to camp here someday, and we will! You really do the best, most thorough reviews. Love the full hook-ups. The river view is epic, what's not to like about that? The fall colors are so pretty. Historic buildings are always fun to see. We really enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing. :)
Yeah man we think we like this place even more than Warriors for camping. We have had a great time. Y'all should stop by. Come on back now and camp with us for a few days. lol. The hookups are very cool. The river makes sleeping so easy. Thank you for your kind words and support as always. You are a good friend.
Thank you so much for watching. It is a great place for sure. Wow Germany. That is really cool. I will be stopping by to check out your content as well.
Hey thanks for watching Mr. Grimm. Been waiting on your video today. You are holding out on me. lol. This place is great. I thought this one would be right up Alice's ally.
I was there for a vintage rally the weekend after Mayberry and will be again next year. Love that campground. On my trip, I stayed at 5 different places and Davy Crockett Birthplace was my favorite. I've camped there 3 times and never been out of the campground area. I didn't even know all the other stuff was there! Doreen
Very cool you came here. So you know how cool it is. Hope you enjoyed Mayberry and sounds like you already got a great trip planned for next year. This park is amazing. We have been very impressed. Tons to see and do here. Hope you can get out to see the rest of the park next time.
Hey man, thanks for stopping by. Yeah this state park was off the hook nice. We loved it. Will go back again for sure. So much to see and do right in the park.
Doors on the showers is a plus. Horse shoes and other games is nice, I don't recall that at Texas State Parks. I haven't seen washers in Texas, but I do remember Georgia, our favorite state park had washers. Those sites are pretty packed in there. That looks more like an RV park than a state park. Free day use? wow, that's cool. Those are some sweet donkeys, our girls would love that interaction. That homestead looks great, very authentic looking. Great park.
Hey man thanks for stopping by. Yeah this one is pretty nice. The doors on the showers is a big deal. We tend not to use the park showers anymore when we have full hookups but a great addon when we don't. Yep the sites are a little tighter here compared to other state parks. I think that is for the hookups. Not to bad though. Overall plenty of room. Yep it is like being at a private park with the state park setting. Perfect. Yes all parks in TN have free day use for State and National parks. A very cool thing. The donkeys are so cool. Your kids would love them. If y'all are ever in the area we highly recommend this place.
Hey there! Didn't know so much about David Crockett. Thank you for another great park review. Nancy would LOVE the friendly donkeys! I love the trails! I need the exercise and love walking trails.
Well hello again. lol Yeah this place was amazing. The donkeys are so cool. So much to do and see at this park. I agree on the trails and even more needing the exercise. I am turning into a butterball. lol
Hey thanks for watching. Yeah this place is amazing. We are here for another week. We extended our stay since we liked it so well. Hope to head out after this week though. The donkeys are so cool.
Georgeous site! We will put this one on our list to check out next time we are in the area. We were just in Crocket, TX named for Davy Crocket because he camped by a spring in the area on his way to the Alamo. Safe travels guys!
Hey great to hear from y'all. Thanks for watching. This is for a great add to your list. It is such a great park. Nice being in Crocket, TX. That is cool. We are synced up. lol Hope y'all are having a great time in TX. We will make it there sooner or later.
Nice park! One advantage to a slightly sloped campsite is that you usually don't get standing water and mud puddles in wet weather. Looks like Tennessee offers a lot more amenities in their campgrounds than NC does. The historic area with the animals is very cool. I will certainly put this on my list of places to stay. Thanks for another great review.
Hey Jurgen, how are you buddy? That is true with the slope. The Class A's do not do to well with a slope but so far we have been able to mange on the ones we have ran into. TN has some pretty nice parks. This one would be about 4 hours from you. I am a history nerd and of course love animals so that this was win/win for me. Thanks for the kind words buddy.
*I enjoyed the reverb in the bathroom. I love some horseshoes! Fun to see the cabins, makes the experience hands on. That kind of fence is so awesome. That donkey looked familiar*
LOL you look like a guy that likes bathroom talk. lol. This place is really cool man. I have built fences like that in the past. I like them to. Yeah the donkey looked like Uncle Billy's alter ego Marc. hahaha
That is nice state park with all the hookups, and I like that memorial for David Crockett. "King of the Wild Frontier." That donkey almost got your camera, lol. Debbie - BluWave Odyssey
Hey Debbie, thanks for watching. The donkey was funny. lol Y'all should drive back up and hang out with us. Bob could feel some real cold weather for the next few days anyway. lol
What a nice park- I think I remember passing signs for it on our drive from Mt Airy back to Texas. I love a river too...very soothing. Such interesting history! Great info 👍🏻
Yep you would have seen signs on 40 for it. Thanks for watching by the way. This place is great. Tons of nice state parks here in TN. I want to be in TX right now though. It is cold here. lol The river is really nice. Y'all should stop by next time. If you can get Marc to come that far again. lol
Looks like a good place to visit and it’s open, we are shutting down again here in the left coast. I’m just hoping next year will be a better. Take care amigo.
Hey man thanks for watching. So sorry to hear you are shutting down again. I think that wave is heading east. I feel we will get caught it it at some point soon again. I am now expecting a full shutdown in the coming weeks. That really sucks. Hope you can getaway and to some open places.
watching this hex clad cookware oh man I bet its so expensive LOL ok now on to the video. Thats neat that its part of a state park is that a uncommon thing? that looks like a great place to stay.
This is a really nice park. Sites tend to be a little unlevel front to back but other than that pretty sweet. Plus if you like history then you can go down on the weekend to the cabin in the park and they give you a ton. We love it here.
So I have to say… I don’t usually say this… but I’m not too impressed with the campground. I feel that they are trying to be an RV resort. Way too many sites, Way too close together, and I don’t think hardly any of these pull through a can be accessed easily with the tail swing of any 30’ or longer rig if you have to go down one of these center dividing lanes. I hadn’t explored the homestead area yet. I mean the area is beautiful but whew
Good to know. I have not used the campground. I have just been to the park many times. Like all the waterfalls and hiking. Is the park busy with campers right now? I would not have thought so.
@@GimpyCamper never mind my last comment. Wrong park. Lol I was Thinking of Fall Creek Falls. Lol Yes you are correct. The sites are tight and the lean downhill. Nice park overall. Love the river but very tight if busy. We went in the winter as well like you. Was not to busy then so not as bad. Hope it’s not full on you now.
We have never stayed in a state park because a lot fo them generally have small spot and little to no hoookups, But this one looks like one I could stay at.
Yep you are correct. the sites with water and power only are a little cheaper as well. I do enjoy the full hookups when we can get them. Love long showers. lol
40 sites? That would be nice to take care of. What about the bathroom for the undecided? Nice bathhouse. Rocking chairs are for old people. Oh! did they have screw ball? Looks like a very nice state park. Did you say let your dogs run loose? 🤔 Davy Crocket, was he related to Daniel Boone? Oh cool, love the animals. Do they have monkeys? Well! I though this was a very good review. What happened to the Paw Rating? Didn't you do that? Man this was good. Thanks William!
40 sites with full hookups. 80 sites total. Still pretty small though. We don't do undecided in TN. lol I love rocking chairs and I am not old. I get sweeter with time like wine. lol. No screw ball. You are the screw ball. It really is a very nice park. We love it. I did sort of say that but not what I meant. lol. I meant you can let your dogs go pretty much anywhere in the park. On a leash of course. All us southern folk are related. lol The animals are nice. No monkey. I wish. I love monkeys. No paw rating have not done that in a while. Have you been watching? Are you back on the bottle again and passing out during the videos? Thanks for watching buddy. Talk to you soon.
Hey Harold. That is very cool. Tell him to stop by if he is up here this week any. We are in site 15. Cool that he is helping to make this place even better. Thank you for watching buddy. Hope you are doing well. Might have some big news coming here soon from TN. Stay tuned.
Hey Bob, thanks for watching. This is our kinda park as well. Yeah I think pretty much all TN state parks are open year around. I know for sure this one is. We about have the entire place to ourselves right now. lol Really nice.
Hey Diane, yes it is. I think most TN state are open year around. They end up closing down a few sections but a few are always open for a visit. Plus in the winter time you can have most of the park to yourself. lol
I would say he could have. lol. I have heard that story as well. No idea on the truth but my real guess is that did not happen. Would be cool though. lol
