Gilbert OSullivans 1973 album track Who Knows Perhaps Maybe is obviously the inspiration for David Dundas admittedly superb song Jeans On. A big hit in 1976, it was sadly Dundas only big hit.
Lord David Dundas, son of the 3rd Marquess of Zetland & resident owner of the house in Albert Street, Camden Town that was the location in the late 60s for events later portrayed in the cult film "Withnail & I". Look for the famous photograph of assorted residents outside the house, including Bruce Robinson ("Withnail" Writer/Director) & Vivian MacKerrell (the person the character of Withnail is based on).
One of my Mother's friends was having a pool party at her home and all of us were invited. My mothers friend Rose was with us as well!! My Sister Caroline had her Spinal operation and was feeling Down Because she Couldn't swim or do the things the rest of us were doing. All of us wanted to cheer up Caroline so when this song came on Myself and my Sister Eva worked on some new dance moves that we tried out in front of everyone!! Caroline Started to cry because she LOVED what we were doing and my Girlfriend Debbie was Crying As well!!! We got them up and showed them how the moves went and soon they had big smiles on their faces. My Mother and Rose enjoyed watching Myself and my Sister Eva Dance Then My Sister Caroline and my Girlfriend Debbie dance as well. When we got done my Sister Caroline asked why we Didn't Show her Sooner!!! We replied That " we wanted to make sure you were strong Enough to be able to dance the way we developed it!!! My mother And Rose Said that " Debbie and Caroline made a cute little dance Couple!!! I was so thrilled to to learn to dance from my Sister Eva and everytime we dance together I have the thrill of my life!!!

For very many years the artistes were not allowed to sing live. A BBC musicians union rule. Til THEY went on strike then the groups/singers HAD to go live. Not always very successfully 😏
