@@jeffersonaraujoelcristiano Few months back, someone leaked videos of Dave beating off to some woman over a video call, which later lead to his dismissal from Megadeth.
kiki the gerbil Take it from a guy that plays bass and guitar on a pretty even basis, while it's the same basic technique, picking on bass is a bit harder than picking on guitar and requires a bit more practice. But this was just my experience when I started playing bass, I've come to prefer fingers over pick on bass though.
His finger technique is pretty good too, but naturally his pick technique is insane when he’s playing mustaines riffs on a bass both live and recording. And ftr not any decent guitar player can play like that on bass
Being a REAL celebrity and not an internet one helps. He did do the smartest thing and sit back quietly while lawyers take care of it. I don't blame Dave Mustain or the band as a whole either, it was the smartest move fkr businesses especially in the current social climate. Very unfortunate though
@kiki the gerbil he played my bass and used my pick and when I got home I put the pick in my mouth on accident then realized that he used and I was like L a w d
My last words is very hard to play, mantaining that chrom scale with the up strokes for a couple of minutes hurts both hands, and seems like even mr. Ellefson strugles with it now!!!...Anyway, tnx for sharing \m/...
I have the Dean V bass. Same bass different body. Truly it is my favorite bass seeing this video put a smile on my face especially when I realized it was my last words. Protect that bass for eternity🤘
To he playing one hour or more of Megadeth's songs live, being on the pocket, and keeping the stamina and overall sound DEMANDS technique, you cant get around that fact. Just stamina alone... Man. I see people talking shit about playing with a pick... I guess its a genre thing. Either way, to trash an artist because of the tools he chooses to use is just snobish and quiet childish in my opinion. But thats the internet for you so...
I’ve actually had my guitar signed just like yours at the guitar center and extra bass strings By Megadeth my guitar is a Jackson bloodline five string bass guitar he signed it and had a lithograph signed as well and extra Megadeth electric bass string mine was a five string bass guitar David Ellefson Really really awesome person shook hands with him talked about the band and he lives in Phoenix Arizona and Dave mustang lives in California even David Ellefson Has many mansions in California and Arizona everywhere Megadeth they’re everywhere how are yeah my favorite death metal Megadeth great video my friend
I wanna smack those 2 statues in the background. How do you just sit still for this? David friggin Ellefson playing an iconic riff right in front of your face! Hello?! Do you need a coffee or something?
wiring went bad, although i replaced the pickup with a Seymour Duncan Soapbar pickup and new wiring. KEPT THE STRINGS ON those strings David Ellefson played will never be taken off, they will rust and not be over tuned or worked
Me too! My wiring didn't go bad, but I put in a Seymour Duncan passive Phase II soap bar pickup. You could change the strings and keep these ones in a safe place? That way you don't have to worry about them breaking and you can always put them back on when the time is right.
Oh boy My fav story. My friend (Josh) and I (Me, him, and Adam have a band, I play bass.) were planning on going to guitar center to dick around, then he said "Adam wants to know if you want to see the bassist to Megadeth. Well you can assume i obviously wanted to. On the way we smoked pot (Not Adam), and i brought my very first bass (My Dean Metalman Z, which i saved up and bought in march 2016 and still practicing on). David Ellefson was doing a book signing for his new autobiography about his experience with Megadeth. It happened to be at this community college 30 minutes away. (Terra State community college, in buttfuck nowhere Fremont, Ohio.) We wen inside and listened to him speak, my guitarist got his bass signed and mine, his on the back of the neck, Adam bought a book, we shook his hand as we got it signed and i plopped that bass and said "Dude, just sign wherever you feel comfortable". After got got pictures with him and went to a room where he wasn't, it had so many stacks, so many basses, (Including a Rob Trujillo and Steve Harris bass), I wasn't good at playing at the time but it was fun, then after making shitty tonal noises on an amp or two, David walks in the room and I'm baked out of my mind because i was still a lightweight. He started jamming on basses, playing some iron maiden he even played on this cute tiny bass i even played with. Then i handed him my bass and i never freaked out like that in my life, i was just sunned at what was literally 3 feet in front of me.
I've improved haha. This was a month or two after I got it so I was pretty new (wish I could've gone infront of Dave now) . I think he noticed and is used to fans so he rolled with the dumbstruck kids. I doubt he remembers it since he's been around this forever. I was 16 then im now 22 in 5 days. I'd say my metal etiquette is much better and my bass skills even though I've been slacking due to life. I'd like to imagine I could jammed for 30 seconds with him or something but the experience I got is still great. That bass will never have a sting change and I've protected the signature. Also added a new pickup. It's still my bass though and I still play it.
