Before all the ill intended comments fly in I just want to say that at this point of this comment that Dave has been put in a shitty situation but whether people agree with what has been brought out that he hasn't done anything legally wrong. And he at this point still deserves the respect that has taken him 38 years to aquire.
I hope things will turn out right for him and his family. Also, I hope there aren't any more shitty things behind his dismissal. Hard times come easy...
I don’t give a rats ass what anyone says David belongs in Megadeth. Like we are not all human?!? I know I’ve done things I don’t want anyone to know about. But I did tell on myself because I still want to go to Heaven . He’s just as human as you or I. So on that note I don’t care that he acted human. But I do care that he’s not in the band he helped make extremely famous. I’d definitely smoke a joint with him if he asked🤧
Mustaine comes off as kind of douchey, but deep down, he's a good guy. Just a guy who had a shit-ton of addiction-related issues back in the day. But no, he isn't very humble.
Dave should watch this and conclude that David is a good person and humble and the only bass player that should be in Megadeth. He does not need forgiven, he did nothing illegal, he just did a dumb thing like everybody does and a second chance would be nice. I think his more pressing issue is his wife's understanding.

He used to play with his finger during the early days of Megadeth. Watch the 84 show with Kerry King and Lee Rausch, he plays with his fingers. Also he does Fingerstyle when he chills in the background during extended versions of songs, like She Wolf.
@@dumpsterplayer5133 Not many bassists are skilled enough at fingerstyle to play fast thrash metal without a pick like Cliff Burton did and like Robert Trujillo does.
@@hinjurock70 Frank Bello plays bass with fingers too mostly. Ellefson and Frank use pick only for tone reasons in some songs, David played with fingers on the first Megadeth album but used pick afterwards.
A huge rock/metal bass player, and a great guy... He didn't deserve the treatment he got from Mustaine, I honestly hope that he will continue playing bass for many many years more!
I agree with him, I have always liked the melodic bass playing of Gene Simmons. I don't understand why people call him a bad bass player, he's a competent bassman

Well, he has admitted numerous times that session guys played his parts. Don't know if he has written all his parts, but some of them are actually very cool.
I wouldn't daré to pock at a pro, but with GS, all the bashing is about his public persona and his sayings, more than his technical skills/playing. He serves well to Kiss music and their spectacle👍
Great interview Mr Ellefson and that peace sells riff is an absolute classic. One thing though , Sid Vicious couldn't play for toffees , all the bass lines on "Never mind the Bollocks" were played by Steve Jones.
Dave isn't a singer. He's a guitarist that is a vocalist in a metal band, a rather successful metal band. He is what he is for Megadeth. He couldn't sing anywhere else, but works in Megadeth.

I was always inspired by Ellefsons playing and was mesmerized with his hands when I saw them live about 10 years ago... and I honestly don't give a damn if he sent somebody a video of himself jacking off. People do it all the time.. big deal.
Bass players always seem to be so laid back. I noticed on youtube on these videos, when they are talking about their instrument, it is different. There is a look of pure glee and, "listen to this".

He’s just as cool as other bass players such as Ray Brown, Paul Chambers, Ron Carter, James Jamerson, Jerry Jemmott, Paul Jackson, Bootsy Collins, Rocco Prestia, Jaco Pastorius, Nathan Watts, Burke Shelley, Geddy Lee, John Paul Jones, Geezer Butler and Steve Harris. Megadeth is just as cool as other artists/bands such as Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters, Tower of Power, Stevie Wonder, Budgie, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Saxon and Iron Maiden. So yeah, David Ellefson, awesome bass player. Megadeth, awesome band. Other than that, cool and GO MEGADETH🤘🏾🔥!!!!!!!!:).
I still don't understand how the quality of the sound/video could be so low ! Man that's Dave Ellefson, recording a vidéo for Loudwire, please respect us, the viewers, and get some upgrades ... As a french dude, I'm already getting some troubles to understand english speaking, but that sound make the things even more difficult for me
