when i was in jr high school band i played clarinet for the song IF no clarinet player in mey class was able to match my sound , i was lead first chair for the entire year . this was in the late 70s. in L.A . calif.
When i was a kid, I used to listen these kind of songs, and my classmates were laughing at me and said "you belong to the 70's people" and said that i was too old already. I smile and said "ny heart belongs to this kind of music where lyrics are so damn meaningful and exactly touches my soul everytime i hear this playing on". Listening to these kind of songs doesnt mean youre just old yet, listening to these songs means you have a pure heart :)

Rare combination of handsome, talented guitar player with a voice like an angel who wrote classic songs that will sound good forever ... all around good guy, one marriage and no drugs or alcohol problems as far as I know .. Wish he had gone to the same hairdresser as Glen Campbell and gotten rid of that goofy haircut . He could do it all .. sing, play and write ... one of those rare combinations.! Amazing man ....

40 years since that single, and there's David at age 34. Dang, he was young. It all takes me back to what I consider the real Golden Age of pop music. And I am still not done listening to all the great (and forgotten) records of that period.

One of my favs from back in the day. I was born in 1960, so I was 15 in 1975; a native Southern Californian living in Ventura County. It was magical in many ways and this song makes me homesick for that (relatively) free and easy way of life. I wish I could transport all the young pups here who love this music back to that time and place with me so we could experience it all together. ✌️😊
