Those closing sections of Shine On... are the highlight of the album for me. Fine musicianship and such evocative music.

So good. For decades, I had no idea that DG played lap steel. I figured it was all slide guitar. It's gratifying to see him doing it up close. Thank you!

Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green o my... magic tone is Gilmour guitar and lap steel work. Awesome...for all time and generation. I listen LP DSOTM under christmas tree with headphone i think 1974, o my God what expirience. With 10 i start play guitar under 52y. I am 62 almost.

He played a few different tunings; on one of these days and pillow of winds he played in open em (e minor), during the dark side sessions he played in open g6 tuning (more akin to traditional lap and pedal steel tunings) on breathe and great gig in the sky, and I believe for later Floyd tunes like high hopes he went back to open e minor.

Wich one, Sir? There’re six of them. You’ve the title at the beginnig of every track. Anyway, if you’re talking about “Albatros” (the first one) is a song from the band Fleetwood Mac, originally in the album The Pious Bird of Good Omen. You’ve the link with the whole song, covered by Mr. Gilmour, in this RU-vid page.

I've just seen a "funny" advert in which Jason Momoa "took off" his muscles and wig so he looks like a weed with a terrible combover. And then to prove he really isn't gorgeous and cool, he starts playing a lap guitar. Has somebody told David Gilmour, one of the coolest rockstars on the planet, that what he does isn't cool any more?
