You gotta appreciate a man that can play like he does and has been around as long as he has, Gilmore is truly a legend in his own time. Thanks for all your wonderful years of great music !

excellent!!! but would you expect anything else from gilmore?!!! and as for you guys that think his guitar was 'modified', you would be wrong! he uses 'lite' strings, a dimarzzio acoustic pick up,and of course his amazing talent. his sound guys fix it so it sounds really full! iv'e been studying gilmore on guitar for years. what he plays isn't terribly difficult,but what makes it sound so good is mr. gilmore's soul and emotion he puts into his playing. the man is a genius!

nice post. people shldnt get too hung up about strat or no strat, pups etc. its ur playing that really counts-go for 'feel'. with a decent multi effects unit u can make it sound good on a cheap chinese guitar
mind you for a lesson david was being a tad coy with one of these day's. On a side note if anyone out there actually has some tab or something for one of these day's I'd love it. Even the key would do. It's my ambition to do a cover but on normal guitar, not slide. I#d like to do slide also but it's not the most natural thing for me to do slide. I can't even decide which finger to use.
@Pinkfloydisme63 I' m sure of a thing : if it was possible to play with a dishwasher , David Gilmour could play Comfortably numb like he did on a stratocoaster when it' was pulse !
He's using ErnieBall EarthWood Blues and Rock strings that have a plain Steel G string so there pretty much made to be played like an electric guitar and have a super light gauge.
@pierrebugblatter He's still using good quality equipment in each post, and it does sound different to the strat... it still sounds like gilmour yeah, but it sounds like gilmour using a different guitar. It's still important an aspiring musician has a decent instrument in order to acquire that "feel"... unless you're Jack White..
