No one comes even close to David’s guitar playing. Its not because he has fast fingers or uses complicated scales or fancy tuning. He plays with standard tuning a mostly pentatonic scales with him its how he let’s the strings ring. There will never be another Gilmore his the Bruce lee of guitar world. WHAT A LEGEND
There is not, never has been, and never will be another guitarist who can shake you to the core like David Gimour can. His solo's just overwhelm me with feeling. I get huge chills up my spine every single time I listen to this man play.

I don’t see it that way. I think he turned around to say hit it. Just like when Angus Young will turn around to either Phil Rudd or Chris Slade during a solo to tell them when they are about to wind down to finish the song.

This wrecks me. I wept at the two concerts I attended in the 80's. It is pure spirituality with a rough edge. And Dave is as great and dreamy as it gets.

This is a very under-appreciated Floyd/Gilmour piece. The gradual pace of the song as it builds into a crescendo of typical Gilmour soaring leads is ear candy. He's not a shredder, nor is he the most accomplished technician (a la Malmsteen, Vai, Satriani) but his selection of notes and phrasing shows there's beauty in simplicity. In interviews he shares how many of his greatest solos (Time, Comfortably Numb, etc) came from "just plugging in a playing". Brilliant.
When i listen to Gilmour holding forth, i hear a faint sound from long ago, when people worshipped different gods and were closer to the universe than we are now.
I would have given up a HUGE amount of change to have been at this show! Hell, i would have paid hundreds just to stand outside and watch it on monitors! Those are some lucky, lucky humans in that audience, I must say. I wounder how many of them actually know how fortunate they were to be that close to musical legends, Gilmour in particular. peace
