Humans are not here to understand the meaning of life. Primarily, because in our current consciousness, we cannot comprehend it. We simply do not know what we do not know. That's the way it's designed. We're here as explorers to perceive physical reality through the limited perspective of the physical body and sensory perception. Perception of contrast. Our higher self stays outside the body and has the 360 perspective. We are simply recording experience as the persona that we chose for this life. However, our ultimate objective is to ascend into higher consciousness and unify as a collective consciousness, while still in physical body.
One of my all time fav reads is Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. Sci Fi but mesmerising. Ancient civilization found, far advanced, but long extinct. Great show, Danica. WOW
Great conversation and David Kipling is certainly well educated and easily articulates his knowledge. However, I find that he too, is bound by his intellect. I respect that he admits that he doesn't know everything, that he also admits that some science has been corrupted and that he doesn't appear to have an ego. I'm not trying to be be mean or off base, i just think he is really good within the limits of the "Text Book Box" he resides in. Imagination and an open mind would help Mr. Kipping as much of what he says is Science, has been proven to be something contrary, also by scientists. I love that Danica has ALL of these guests on, but whoa, there are huge contradictions in what many of them call Science. I think a room full of all of them might actually solve some of each others problems if they would only kick those walls of books (limitations) to the ground. Thank-you Danica for stretching my mind and cracking open more thought experiments. I am far from right about many things. Your podcasts add little bits to help me and others get closer to solving the puzzles every week. I will add this.... how much money has been spent, invested, donated, wasted on Higher Education over the last 100 years? We have had breakthroughs for sure, but NEVER following the old model. Why do institutions still teach the OLD model? Why do we have tens of thousands of very intelligent humans working on problems every day, with little to NO change in result or advancement in process? Because they ALL keep looking at the problem from the SAME LIMITED perspective. Science has been hi-jacked, politicized, crippled and corrupted. There I said it.

I wish all scientists, esoteric, astrology, philanthropists, archeologist, spirtuallity and geologists etc, would get the hell out of their boxes of study and come together. Work under one roof and one heading. Only then, I believe we will get definitive answers from that kind of collaboration. They seem like a scattered dysfunctional brain. But that is just my opinion. 😊

Its always funny to me, to watch Danica try not to go off on a hollow moon or similar rant, in order not to scare off the geusts. Cua i think we all know that there is or has been more going on in our history as a species, but not everyone has those same beliefs. Whether it is the ancient astronaut theory where humans once had the ability of space flight, but either was destroyed by a cataclysm or destroyed themelves and had to restart from scratch. I am certainly a believer in that possibility.
However i dont believe that we would not be interesting to an alien species, because by his own arguement, we are interested in chimps and what they are capable of.

I've often greatly appreciated Kipping's even-handed approach on some of the big questions of the universe, including the time invested in production and clear explanations he provides. However, saying that there's a lot of evidence for human caused climate change is very disappointing. Do we as humans have some effect on the climate?--of course, but so does cosmic radiation (varied by the sun's and earth's magnetic fields), the earth's orbital precision, and thousands of other mechanisms that dwarf any human involvement. There is NO substantial evidence for IMMINENT CATACLYSMIC ANTHROPOMORPHIC Climate Change, and plenty of evidence AGAINST this cult-like belief promoting an authoritarian global technocracy as the only viable solution. The generic name "Climate Change" is unscientific by its own title. It's an unfalsifiable "theory". Any time the Climate changes (as it always has done and will do), or when something considered "bad" happens, it's chalked up to have happened because of (anthropomorphic) climate change, and then (through circular reasoning), used as "more evidence" to prove humanity's prosperity and population growth is killing us through a shared atmosphere. The remedies make no sense. Nuclear power is ignored (even as a temporary stop-gap), and increasing the cost of energy (as often proposed by gimmicky low-density energy collectors made of environmentally hostile non-renewable "renewables") is only going to kill millions of poor people in the short term. Meanwhile trees that evolved when CO2 was 10x higher than today are suffering from low CO2 density today. Plants and trees in greenhouses that use 4x ambient CO2 concentrations, require much less water, grow taller, faster, and are more resistant to diseases. Much of the fossil fuels we burn today are returning some of the CO2 that those ancient plants and trees consumed out of the atmosphere to begin with. Just think how much smaller dessert regions would be, if we had more CO2. Adding more CO2 doesn't increasing temperatures in a linear function--in fact the levels it is at today is pretty much at its maximum "greenhouse" saturation capacity anyway. Unfortunately too many scientists are slaves to the politicians that give them grants and often afraid of being ostracized. Paraphrasing Maxwell: science only advances one funeral at a time.
We see them if they want us to see them. We are 3D beings that have very little vision. So they are in charge here. When it's time we will. I want to see this guy with Billy Carson 😂.

This guy's analogy of advanced beings looking at humans like we look at ants couldn't be more flawed. Ants have no autonomy or personal agency. In fact all life, except for man has nothing like a conscience. Therefore, despite having differing intellectual capability, our concern for beings similarly equipped with conscience and agency would prevent us from inadvertantly destroying or ignoring such life forms, regardles how technologically advanced or regressed they comparitively are. Imagine finding a single ant with autonomy and conscience. I think we would treat that ant with a completely different level of respect even it were intellectually and technologically at the same level as a typical ant.
We don't know what it takes to get a technological society. An alien species may be wildly different in how it thinks and still have advanced tech. Also other animals besides humans are conscience. See Cambridge Declaration of Consciousness. I believe that is what it is called.
To be fair, comparing the past hypothesis of canals being on mars to the current non-human intelligence hypothesis associated with UFOs, are two very different things. Millions of credible people claim and seem to genuinely believe they have interacted with beings that are connected with the UFO phenomenon. They didn’t just concoct the idea out of thin air. I don’t have all the answers, I just don’t think it’s a fair comparison.

Love is anxiety. Attachment is suffering. Life is suffering. Everything we do is out of fear and love. When we die the brain dies, when the brain dies, consciousness dies. Everyone has a different movie in their head, this is all an illusion created by You from billions of cells and everything else that we have no idea about. In the end nothing matters.
