I learned the A swing in 2015, it was a game changer. I stopped playing golf from 2018 to 2024, and my swing was still here like if I had never stopped playing! I just had remembered the steps presented in this video, and my body never forgot this easy steps. Brilliant!
I have played golf for over 50 years and have had numerous lessons and tried several swing methods. This one is the best ever. At age 74 I have hit more sweet shots than ever! So effortless with terrific results. No swing change adjustment period either! Grip change and backswing very easy to learn. Love to hit that ball!
You have no idea how awesome this swing really is especially for players that cast and come over the top like myself. The A swing puts you in such great positions to hit the ball far and very straight and when you're doing it right you'll see the softest draw you've ever hit and you can do it with every club and I highly recommend that you give it a try.
It depends on what you are willing to deal with in your swing. Across the line at the top and shallowing on the way down equates to push / hook swings and misses in both directions. Only Couples, Nicklaus, Daly were able to make this work and they played fade. Jones played with Hickory.
@@jimmyvespegolf3834I would advise to just focus on the first half of the back swing with the A swing. Once you begin wrist hinge at hip level, From the hips up as long as you do go too laid off or too vertical you’re fine.
@@jimmyvespegolf3834also watch some of Lydia Ko’s swings. She doesn’t do it nearly to the extreme as he shows in the A swing. I think the A swing is a good exaggeration drill basically. Hands in club out slightly, don’t over swing with the arms.
This worked for awhile until I hurt my back. Now i’m using the Mike Austin swing as taught by Steve Pratt. Much easier on the back with the compound pivot.
I've never seen so many bad reviews from a video before this. People who fairly obviously have ongoing problems with their own swing and high handicaps slating off someone who's coached 20 major winners. There are many poor coaches on you tube who give incomplete and questionable advice. I tried the A swing at the driving range today and struck it better than I have done for years. So little to focus on and so easy to achieve.I guess the negative bunch didn't follow David's process correctly or had other problems with their set ups. Which Mickey Mouse online coach will you be moving onto next?
After a long time away from the A swing I played a round today using the A swing on most shots and shot 6 under my usual score. It was inspiring to watch my scores hole by hole as most hits were very straight. Im back.
Basically this is how I hit my wedges with you imagine you're holding a steering wheel at 10 and 2 then when you swing back you're turning the steering wheel to the left and then in the transition you're going to turn it slightly to the right then through impact you're basically turning at slightly left again while you're throwing that right hand. I do this with my wedges and actually try to generate a lot of shaft lean but I don't even turn it to the right in transition
This makes complete sense but have slowed down Ryan swing in this video and he has as near to an orthodox swing as can be - his rehearsal move is no where near his actual swing - that’s just a fact and he is obviously a very good player
Man Leadbetter likes the sound of his own voice. This video is better than most. In 16 minutes we saw 2 swings. Often you're lucky to get one. Looks like no power in that swing. Just slapping at the ball.
True, but... if the student's tendency is to lapse into a laid off position at the top, this method will become a backswing drill to keep him steeper which ends up being dead on plane (for him).
Only two golf balls hit in this video. First golfball hit at 14:45 minutes into the 16 minute video for those that would like to see it before taking in a lecture. Second one is hit at the 16 minute mark.... David please stop talking us to death for the love of all that is good and holy. Pretty sure I'm on life support at this point.
has his wrist cupped at top of backswing. completely disagree with that. sets up for horrible impact postion unless you add another move of trying to flatten your wriest on downswing.
It is funny when you look back to the 80s and all of the Leadbetter guys were _NOT_ across the line at the top. All those majors, all those wins teaching a totally different motion (shallowing before the end of the backswing vs shallowing on the way down). Either he is teaching to hackers now, or this is complete rubbish.
Definitely complete rubbish. I watched him give a lesson to one of those guys off Good Good and he was giving a much more orthodox lesson. None of this A Swing bollocks.
I bought his book back in 1994. The golf swing. Absolutely superb book and it has given me a consistent and repetitive golf swing. What I am seeing here is another way of David staying relevant. In some cases he is contradicting himself with what he wrote back in 1994. His book from 1994 is still relevant today he’s just trying to bring more money in.
The position the student is put in doesn't resemble any position I've ever seen a good golfer get in, nor does it look like his position that he actually does at full speed. Plus he cups his wrist hard, which is a terrible fault.
Yes because most Pros are doing the opposite. That's why he said this is an alternative backswing. If you think of the steering wheel in allergy and you're holding the steering wheel at 10 and 2 most Pros in the backswing turn the wheel to the right in the downswing turn it back to the left and sync things up. This swing is turning the wheel to the left in the backswing and then right in the transition and then left again at impact.
No pro plays the same swing what they do is have the same fundamentals in thier movements like this swing promotes if you knew anything about a golf swing you would recognise this
i agree w/ the other commenters here. daivd, pls less talk and more swinging. also, as many have pointed out your guy doesn't even swing in the plane you preach. pls put your ego aside.
