Hey everyone,
Here's my cover of 687 Days by David Maxim Micic! David is one of my favourite instrumental guitarists, and this is a song I've loved ever since I first heard it.
I didn't originally have any plans on covering this, but I ended up learning the opening part to the song sort of by accident, and then eventually wound up learning the rest as well. I also wanted to try re-creating the entire song, since I hadn't seen anyone do that yet. Hope you enjoy!

Albert- I also have a digitech rp1000. Can you please share the exact settings for guns n roses distortion tone?, and clean, from your civil war video? How bout the metallica settings as well please? Thanks!!!!

I don't have the settings from my Civil War video unfortunately, but here is the setting I've used for most of my Metallica covers: Wah: Off Compressor: Off Distortion: Screamer Drive: 50 Tone: 70 Level: 65 Amp: Dualrect (Dual Rectifier) Cab: Vntg4x12 (Vintage 4x12) Amp Gain: 90 Bass: 7.0 Mid: 5.5 Treble: 6.5 Amp Level: 72 Equalizer: On Low Level: 5 800 Hz Mid Level: -5 3000 Hz High Level: 8 Noisegate: On Threshold: 5 Attack: 0 Release: 0 Atten: 99 Chorus/FX: Off Delay: Off Reverb: Off And I would turn on wah/delay/reverb when appropriate. Can this be played on a six string? And does it require any specific guage strings?

The original is tuned in open Ab tuning on a 6-string, which is pretty low. You would definitely need thicker gauge strings to play in that tuning, but it's possible to play the melodies in the song with a more standard tuning :) My guitar was tuned to Ab Eb Ab Db Gb Bb eb in this video if that helps!
