Many violinists hurry, hurry in Rondo but, Mr. Oistrach has royal interpretation - calmly and convincingly he takes us through the beautifus sounds of this musical pieces.
All those people from 1 year ago are Twosetters, I'm happy they're making classical music more appreciated Glad someone from 11 years ago still appreciated it And glad for you who's typing that comment after another 10 years are still appreciating it
Oistrakh - Munch -Boston. A miracle. I've heard everybody play this piece and have been collecting violin recordings for forty years; I heard Oistrakh any number of times live, but THIS is STUPENDOUS, even for Oistrakh!! I've never heard this piece played like this, NEVER!
@@peteroh9319 51 years...gulp!! I think Vengerov was amazing at his best. Haven't heard him live in years. Chen I don't know. Otherwise: Francescatti was stupendous, ar his best. And of course Heifetz, but that always goes without saying.
It's impossible to hear any better - sadly David Oistrakh died from a heart attack in 1974 - and this glorious, subtle and passionate performance is so GREAT played by the unbeatable King of Violinists, Greatest of the Greats of all times!!!!!
Apart from that it is truly amazing, one should realise that this is basically live recording, without correcting, tuning and gluing each bar digitally like today ...
This is sublime, unparalleled to anyone. Such detail and phrasing, this is quality! I must say I feel like many play this, without really thinking and constructing something of this detail today. I really like this recording! Thank you for uploading! :-)
The entire piece is gorgeous, but the first 60 seconds gives me goose bumps--so delicately expressive. I have enjoyably spent hours listening to the versions by artists great and greater, and I come back to this one with hunger and anticipation in my soul. My sincere thanks to majomxxl and others who posted versions of Intro and Rondo.
I heard him in Moscow in 1959 , and Australia when he was bought to Australian in the 60;s by my Father ,, Charming man and his wife too , and met his son in Moscow as a young man .. I have a record signed bu this master of the violin .
This is pretty good. I think it's the best Oistrakh recording I've heard - super clean and those high notes extremely well in tune. Magnificent. Bravo!!
Thank you! Thank you for uploading this! It is a version of my childhood, forever favorite. All others can only be compared to it, and never supersede!
I heard this on my Ipad … immediately I recognised David Oistrakh ‘s virtuosity… never heard before! Quite proud of myself, I most humbly admit… (I deeply bow, …)
I am an Oistrakh fan myself, but calling him peerless in his ability to communicate emotion would never come to my mind. I suppose you don't realize how disrespectful this is to other great artists.
i love this. this is my fav violin piece and here mr oistrakh has given a most unique and delicate rendition. sl more whimsical a touch slower than many but just magnificent. truly he was one of the greatest orchestra does v well here too
Demetrio D !
Who is the best?? - who wants to decide that? - and - is this important?? - I think not! The most important thing is, that you like what you hear!! And this music and the performers are excellent !! But I must confess, that I am a big "Jascha Heifetz" fan. I like his incredible perfection and the way, how he plays the violin. But each has its own flavor and that's a good thing !!
No need to ponder the “best.” Humanity was blessed with several “bests, “ and we should appreciate this gift and enjoy them all. Notice so many of the violinists are Jewish.. but no wonder.
