I love how Alan said, "You can always come home". I moved out at 19 because I was miserable at home, however my mother telling me "And don't think you are ever coming back" was like a knife through my heart.
I'm so sorry you had to live with that, I walked out of my home on the morning of my 18th birthday, just to get away from my mother, my dad had seen it coming, he couldn't stop it, over 5 decades later I lost my mum, as much as I hate to admit it it was almost a relief
@@kellythomas1933 That's what I'm thinking too. People ask me how I will feel when she dies. I think I will be glad I won't need to look over my shoulder all the time. I wish we could have all had healthy families!
I’m so sorry to hear that I’m one of the lucky ones I’m 56 and I could still go home - and my belief is it should always be that way - I hope you find the strength in you to know it’s your life grab every opportunity that you can and make your life’s success yours ❤️
I'm 70 and never had that experience. After a failed marriage in Mt 20s my parents welcomed me back. My 2nd marriage has lasted 35 years and going for 50. If my parents were alive my whole family would love to live with them. My parents loved all 6 of us. We're all on our own and mom would be totally excited to see how large our family has gotten. Wish everyone the best.
Spent many hours listening to my older sister's Osmond Brothers albums back in the day & watching them on tv appearances was the best thing ever for preteen girls. The original boy band. Thanks for the memories, Osmond Brothers.
The Osmond’s are my favorite family of All time and I mean all of them. I watch them daily for inspiration, hope and to emulate. Y’all are gems and make everyone sparkle like the Heavenly Father. His grace is enough to win the battle of life no matter the challenge or circumstances we are dealt.
David has a wonderful voice.. heard him sing "Danny Boy" xx David Osmond, you don't need Simon Cowell or any of that lot, Darlin' to authenticate you! being an Osmond is enough. God Bless you x Bless your Dad, Alan..Love to you x I first saw your Dad with his brothers in LONDON 1972 Rainbow Theatre.
First time seeing this. It was so great seeing your family right there with you. Alan sure does have a Blessed Kind spirit and lots of love for you and his family. Thank you for this ❤️
Always loved your family growing up - We are sending out our prayers for father and son and wishing you all the very best of health, love, peace and happiness in your futures. God Bless You All!!
I got to meet the whole family in 1972 when they moved from LA to SLC. They all signed their album for me including Marie and Jimmy. So very gracious. Marie said to me Why do you want my signature? I answered because you will be famous also. Then they had their show that I watched every week. I didn’t know that they were struggling and suffering. God bless them both and their family.
He has a beautiful voice. I am so sorry to hear he also has MS. I hope he has a great career ahead of him and it sets him up for the future when he can no longer work. I loved seeing Alan Osmond in the clip, I am such a huge fan and always have been.
The one song I remember from Alan is He's not heavy he's my brother. Now I know Merrill was lead vocalist, but Alan brings this song home to what he's going through physically doesn't he?!
It always amazes me when someone who has a famous family chooses to go after what he wants with no “inside” help. I’m certain that dong was about God getting him through the tribulations of MS, and he has that “Osmond voice.” The song obviously meant something to him, and singing of our God does my heart good.
Osmond voice? Are you joking. He couldn't carry a tune. always making the tune vibrate when it shouldn't have as he sung was a big let down. Listen to the original Osmond's from the 70's and you will heard that man can't sing after all.
Its nice to see the new generation of Osmonds rising up. The world is a more beautiful place with the Osmonds. Grew up listening, had my crush on Donnie, and been a fan ever since. I love them all!
David you sound professional. Talented no doubt. Alan Osmond was my favorite Osmond. David, you have all the appeal of your father. Your voice to me echoes Uncle Donny.
Another set of great vocal chords from the Osmonds 💝 wishing you all the best brother! The churches second best (don't wanna upset MOTAB lol) choir of angels 😁😁😁😍
Some comments say why did he go out audition? Well he wanted to do it on his own terms and not abused the Osmond name. Which was good for him he did it on his own terms and he made it
The talent certainly runs in that family and so does the love. No family is perfect so they’ve had their ups and downs but they are there and stand by each other. I’d like to know how far David went in the audition process.. if anybody knows please reply. God bless and I hope he and his sweet father Alan are managing their MS as best as can be
he has musical genes from the family he really doesnt need the american idol show to succeed im sure he can make it on his own anyway when does winners of this show make it really big very few
yes but donnie made a come back and just went on tour so hes still got it and good 4him he deserves it especially after un knowingly loosing his millions he never saw a penny till the 80s when he made his new album and b4 joseph and the technicolor ed dream coat lol
zthde the osmonds ( Donny AND Marie ) Are Frauds since they have grown , so has Their '' EGO'' They don't want 2 talk 2 the average person unless there is a camera on them they think they are better than us .. well guess who gave them the fame ? could it be the fans going to their concerts buying their records and merchandise .. Marie makes you think that Nutrisystem helped her lose weight and that is all .. well NOT TRUE !! Weight-loss brand: Nutrisystem. Weight lost: 50 pounds. Money gained: Estimated $1.65 million* Singer Marie Osmond struggled with her body image for much of her life, which might be one of the most relatable sentences ever written.Sep 27, 2012 ... Marie thinks she OWNS diet plans !!hint Marie Osmond may have one-upped Oprah Winfrey in the battle of the bulge. The singer and Las Vegas performer - she stars in a show with her famous brother, ( '' Donnie '') '' '' ( THIS IS Nutrisystem's SPELLING NOT MINE )'' at the Flamingo - boasted on Tuesday that she’s lost 50 pounds using Nutrisystem - and has been able to keep them off over the 10 years she has been a company pitchwoman. Osmond’s boast seemed aimed squarely at Winfrey and her Weight Watchers program. The TV mogul last month moved the company’s stock when she announced she had lost 40 pounds over 14 months. The December-January months are key to weight-loss companies as folks make New Year’s resolutions to get thinner - and turn to the companies for help. Winfrey has been very visible on TV the last two weeks as Weight Watchers has amped up its latest market push. Osmond and Nutrisystem were not about to miss an opportunity to get its message out there. “Marie has been with us for a long time,” Nutrisystem Chief Executive Dawn Zier told The Post. “She’s kept the weight off and had a lot of success.” REAL PROFESSIONAL Nutrisystem Chief Executive Dawn Zier . Ouch. That too seemed to be aimed at Winfrey and her yo-yo dieting. ! NOW DONNY ON THE OTHER HAND -- Donny Osmond: 'I was washed up by 21' Soldier of Love" is a 1989 song by American singer Donny Osmond, which became his comeback hit.[2][3][4] A Top 30 hit in the UK in 1988, the track Was Not Initially Released In The US As Osmond Did Not Have A Record Deal There. However, a cassette of the song from a British import was sent by an Osmond fan to Jessica Ettinger, the acting Program Director and Music Director at ABC's WPLJ-FM New York. Ettinger liked the song but was concerned that Osmond, a former child star, wouldn't be accepted by the current pop audience. Ettinger, believing the song to be a hit, up-ended the top 40 music and radio industry by giving it a slot on her playlist. Osmond was not only unsigned by any record label in the U.S., but the song itself was unavailable for purchase in the U.S. at the time. To give the song a chance, she created a '' MYSTERY ARTIST " Promotion; Put The Song In Rotation, And Kept Listeners Guessing Who The Artist Was For SEVERAL WEEKS.[5] Eventually, Ettinger had her air talent reveal that the song was by Donny Osmond, who appeared live on the air at the same time. Osmond was soon signed by Capitol Records, which copied Ettinger's promotion idea nationwide and released the song as a single. "Soldier of Love" reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1989,[6] behind Michael Damian's "Rock On"; and Osmond credits Ettinger with re-launching his career by listening to the music and not pre-judging whether a song could be a hit based on the name of the artist .. Apparently No One Guessed The '' MYSTERY ARTIST '' BECAUSE NO ONE KNEW DONNY OSMOND !!! Donny had 2 go 2 another Country 2 make a record have it sent 2 America FOOLED the public with the '' GUESS THE MYSTERY ARTIST '' Playing the song over and over trying 2 guess the singer until her listeners knew the song ! !! Great way 2 get back into America Recordings again Donny ! CHEAT LIE FRAUD RUDE !! THERE YOU GO OSMOND FANS FROM A LONG TIME EX - OSMOND FAN !
@@phoebeh3watkins464 Not true. I am a regular person and Donny talled to me when no cameras were around. Talked for a long time, he asked all about me and my family. I don't know where you get your info but they are tremendous, humble people.
I will never forget Donny talking 2 Tom Snyder when the interview was over tom thanked DONNY AND SAID ( AND YOUR SISTER ) Donny had the nerve to snap his fingers at Tom and replied ( and her name is ?) Tom Snyder of course said Marie Tom Snyder was an ICON Donny was a peon .. if you went to hear them sing in Branson of course they talked to you that is a meet and greet because they are way 2 old 2 be singing all of there songs from back in the day ! OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW GENERATION .. Lets see if they have the talent to make it on their own.
@@phoebeh3watkins464 He was joking with Tom. Everyone but you can take a joke. You get absolutely no say in whether the Osmonds are in or out. You also get absolutely no saying what songs they choose to sing. They can perform whenever and however they want to, if you don't like it just stop watching them. You are obviously obsessed with them, writing essays on their videos. Just move on. We are going to keep watching because they are so talented and are incredible people with a great sense of humor. But best of luck to you!
He got kind of shabby treatment BECAUSE he's an Osmond. Simon and Donny we're on the same talk show once, Simon being interviewed first, and he made fun of Donny. When Donny came out for his segment he called Simon on it.
What were the judges thinking?! I mean, how could they not be BLOWN AWAY by your singing? They should have been jumping up and down! Just like I was! And that was when I first heard of David and now I'm a big big fan! Go David! \o/
I think they were put off by the name "OSMOND". They want unknowns and don't want to be seen as being partial. But hey, there are so many Osmonds and none of this generation has "made it". It would have been grossly unfair to dismiss his OBVIOUS talent. He certainly will have the work ethic.
i couldn't get my head phones off fast enough ! i thought my ears were going to bleed from his horrible voice !! and of course he got through because he is an ''Osmond '' i think he won't last long .. there will be a lot more people with a lot more talent !
That was a damn great audition and an audition is to show your skills before further song selections. Not sure who this family is but love from Australia. 10/10!
