Check out David Robinson...classic early 80's look...lol. Something about that early 80's style was just cool. Straight legged pants, aviator glasses, stripes and checks. The look was ruined in the mid 80's with all the neon and pastel colors that became popular. The black and white stripes of The Cars and Blondie is what was so cool. There is a Cars concert filmed with them all wearing something in black and white stripes.....somewhere....and I loved it.
oh my God! I love every single one of these guys so much!! This recording of JWIN is so raw and so cool! Yes, a few clunker notes and something wonky going on between the keys and El, I think; but who the hell cares? It is a brilliant song! I have always loved the way it builds up, calms down and builds up. Elliot was ALWAYS, always a joy to watch, as he was so emotive, so physical in his playing and into it. The beginning interview was great. Both Dave and Ric looks fresh and very attractive. **Edited to add: But I just watched it again, and the interviewer asks his first question, posed for "David" to respond to and Ric answers the question, talking right over David. Ooh, that man irritates me sometimes!! Of course, the cut-up in the back, strolling back and forth behind the interviewer is priceless. Photo-bombing ages before it became 'a thing.' Aww Benj! You were SUCH a bright star, so talented and we deeply miss you!
To be fair, it sounds like David says, "Ric?" after the guy directs the question to him. And weirdly, the camera focused on Ric even after the interviewer said "David." Shout-out to Ben's t-shirt, which couldn't have been any tighter. ;)
The best song ever. Got me through very rough times. Cars were grossly underrated and should have been inducted in HOF in 90's. Instead, crappy, non-rock bands were inducted.

I just have to wonder if Elliott Easton got tired of playing the same solo night after night... after night, after night... He's a good player, and his solos are tight and melodic, but still...
