I love this guy, his Tárrega double CD integral Guitar is masterful and covers many of Francisco Tárrega's greatest works. His Bach lute suites are sublime too, I use his recordings as benchmarks for much of my own practice.

I'd say David Russel and John Williams have best interpretation of this. Williams' tremolo is incredibly linear and consistent.

Say what you want about Chet Atkins, he could not play this that well. Me? I’ve never even tried to learn this piece. If I did, I’d record half on one track and overdub the other half. It would take all day and I would probably cry myself to sleep.

Un morceau très difficile... Très difficile d'obtenir un trémolo parfaitement régulier... La meilleure version que j'ai écoutée à ce jour est celle de Pablo Sainz-Villegas....

Tremolo needs to be more uniform. There is a galloping sound coming from a tiny break after each third note. Otherwise very nice.

Surprisingly, only a handful of guitarists understand that the thirty-second notes need to sound like a single quarter note in tremolos. David is not among them.

He seems utterly bored with the piece and his own playing. No emotionial connect to the music, plays like it is an etude. His few fake facial expressions only add to the triteness of this performance.
