IMMACULATE MASTER OF THE GUITAR!!! WE LOVE YOU DAVID!!! COME TO GREECE AGAIN AND ENCHANT US WITH YOUR MAGICAL PLAYING...I MISS YOUR MASTER CLASSES...David is the best teacher I have ever seen..!!!
Dear David, I discovered you thank's Nikita B. and since, I regularly listen to you ! You are a great artist !I have a very good CD of you ! Best regards.
David Russell demonstrates amazing virtuosity and evenness of tone between apoyando and tirando when called for musically. Thanks for uploading--very enjoyable interpretation!
love this vals just started to study it gotta agree with blacklunden, each instrument has its own things, even if unfortunately the guitar has less known pieces than the piano or whatever the guitar has a lot of "options" while, imo, yeah, there are a lot of great pieces for piano, but the piano lacks a lot of emotional options, sure you can have dynamics and a little articulation issues, but where are the different timbres? the guitar may have downsides, but a lot of upsides aswell
you're right. He plays the whole campanella with the same fingering, while in every version I've ever heard of it changes for a few chords. I dont think any version has that. Other than that....I dont know why everyone plays the campanella bit so technically. It has some beautiful harmonies but most players tend to run through them like its some king of gigue.
yo opino que asi es mejor, asi los compositores se convierten en leyendas inmortales, de otro modo si fueran igualmente reconocidos en su vida, entonces tendriamos un extraño hibrido de agustin barrios con britney spears
If that's the only comment that you have, then you are jelouse. A person of true talent doesn't have to compete by putting another artist down! Proclaim your talent another way and don't mess with a talented timeless artist.
on top of that, since there are so many diversity amongst instruments, a true musician should yeah, of course, dedicate to his/her instrument, but he should on top of that be a good musician, and enjoy music in overall the old "put the fingers in the place" is the least anyone can do a true musician does much more than that
@guitar16 no it isn't... i can play some metalcore songs with a clasical style in guitar and you could hear somethin really good... it's just that you don't like the distortion and the speed, but that doesn't mean it's noise
I dunno...they are BOTH so TALENTED...but if someone put a gun to my head and said 'CHOOSE!' I guess I would have to choose John Williams only because I think he exhibits slightly wider parameters with regards to dynamics.
I love how this comment section is full of boomers who reply to someone by just making a comment instead of actually clicking reply « Oh you two stop fighting!!! »
actually you can't compare them...Mozart is not in the same place and time and place as Barrios they're music is deferent same goes if u try comparing Bach and Mozart as well they are all great but actually Barrios is a classical guitar player and Mozart is was a lot of things...violinist,pianist(funny thing he hated flute loved clarinet) but he wasn't a guitarist so honestly can't compare Barrios with Mozart...just my opinion :D
Why would you put this up on a video posted by somebody other than David Russell? It's not as if he comes to every video of himself, egocentrically looking for fan mail.
i think classical guitar is not as loved as piano or as violin, because it has a very small sound, you can't almost overplay the orchester, that's what makes it so limited. Guitar in general is almost more important then violin nowadays, if you think about electric- and folkguitar. these are instruments almost everyone can play.
I've been to many piano/violin/guitar recitals, and I agree that the guitar is received less enthusiastically than the violin and piano. I feel this has a lot to do with the guitar's natural lack of volume ( when compared with the violin/piano). One needs to hear the guitar in a small room situation or -and this is very problematic - have the guitar amplified in some way.
"Mozart just sucks" implies that it is a universal law, a fact and that it is totally impossible for it to have any other form. Just because you find his music boring, does not mean that it is boring, or sucks. Why do you feel like just because it does no appeal to YOU, that somehow it is a universal FACT that Mozart is bad? It is called your opinion, and I know that you probably just meant it as just that, but you making a statement like that gives the impression that you have an inflated ego.
@guitar16 man, metalcore is music too... metalcore artists express their feeling screaming and they sing right, so it's art, and of course, there are guitar riffs and solos and technique in drums and shit... please stop talking shit about different opinions and leave prejudices behind (sorry if my english sucks)
you two should just drop it... it's quite obvious music is dependent on taste. Segovia disliked the work of Barrios, with the exception of La Catedral. There is a good chance rah0wa is more parallel with Segovia's tastes.
@Scaar81 Metalcore sucks, real traditional heavy metal, thrash metal, progressive metal, jazz, blues and all forms of classical music is what really counts!
