Miami Marlins president David Samson discusses learning of Jose Fernandez's death and extends his and the team's deepest sympathies to Fernandez's family, girlfriend and soon-to-be-born daughter. www.foxsports.c...
I'm not a fan of the marlins, and I didn't know much about jose. this story has really messed me up. were the same age and his life is gone in a split second. when they mentioned his daughter it killed me.
I'm not even a baseball fan or know who he is tbh, but the way this guy went out was terrifying. I hope his family and teammates make it through this sad situation. The sadness in their faces is enough to make you cry. 🙏
R.I.P Jose from a Blue Jays fan. Gone way too soon... Sad day for baseball and many prayers for his family... Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed - Jose. R.I.P still can't believe it.
Dude was excatly my age. My first time I realized life is unique, precious, one-time. Saw a multiple-time allstar, hoffer, die in a silly drunken boatin accident. Rest in Peace José, we’ll remember you in 2050.
Giants fan here. I can't believe the news, during the Giants game Saturday night they showed a clip of Barry Bonds kissing Jose's face after his last start ever, and less than 12 hours later after seeing that clip, he's dead. It's crazy
This is very sad but GOD has a plan 🙏GOD Decided it was time for Jose Fernandez to come home we can't be mad or selfish it's GOD'S choice but he Loves all of us Jose Fernandez is better off with JESUS Christ nobody can argue with that i know that Jose Fernandez is having so much fun in Heaven but I believe he's watching over a lot of people
I am a Yankee Fan but I feel so Sorry For the Marlins and Jose Fernandez family and teammates! Sending my love to the Miami Marlins and teammates and his family and friends
This literally had me in tears. R.I.P Jose Fernandez. I'm a Rangers fan who's still trying to get to know MLB as a whole(other players, stats, etc) so I had really never seen him play, though I did see him at the All Star Game. I then went to look him up and heard his incredible story. I could see he had an electric, contagious smile and a genuine personality. He went way before his time. God bless his family, loved ones and child on the way
I'm a Rangers fan as well. Before today's game @ Oakland they had a moment of silence in his honor. Marlins aren't even in the American League and we still decided to honor his passing. Just goes to show how close we all really are in the family of baseball.
It doesn't matter what fan of what team you are...this is a tragedy. No one deserves to go out this early in their life. I, and I can most likely speak for not only Saint Louis, but for the MLB as a whole, offer my deepest sympathy and respect towards the Fernandez family. Fly high Jose, your light is not extinguished. To small children across, you are their hero. They still have that spark you gave them. Rest well, you need not your glove anymore
Jays fan... I agree. Its a sad day for baseball. It lost one of its brightest stars, so abruptly. Its heartbreaking knowing that he couldn't get the chance to see his daughter born. He was a great guy off the field too, he would've been a great father.
I'm still in shock . I look at my news feed this morning and my jaw dropped. Then I'm watching the videos on RU-vid and it hits me. I had to step outside my house and take it all in and shed tears. He was a remarkable talent with a hall of fame future. We have lost a young giant who played the game the right way!! My heart goes out to their family and the Marlins Organization. REST IN PARADISE YOUNG MAN YOUR NAME WILL LIVE ON⚾️🙏🏻🇨🇺
Bc his death leaves a bigger impact than a person who just works at Walmart or some shit. He was a future Hall of Fame pitcher and was admired throughout the whole league.
It is sad day in baseball, our deepest condolences from Yankee Universe to the Fernandez family, the Marlins organization and fans, the City of Miami, the Cuban community. What shame he left us too soon, this guy was suppose to be a future HOF. He had a heck of an arm. Gone but not forgotten. R.I.P. Jose Fernandez
He got what he deserved because he used cocaine heavily and that was the reason why he crashed and why death took him. You people marter the man and make a hero out of him when he could not handle the fame so he used cocaine and other drug's. To borrow a line from Spidermans uncle Ben With great power comes great responsibility and a long time ago he like so many of these disrespectful athletes today have forgotten that most important lesson. Kobe Bryant rapped a women and he got away with it no prison time no fine just a slap on the wrist so carma intervened and death took him because he deserved it
@@neilwemyss4616 smh stop being a man hating white knight, nobody goes out saying that the prostitute or the hoe got what they deserved when they got raped, but here you are throwing Jose Fernandez and Kobe Bryant under the table. It was never proven that Kobe raped anyone shame on you!
you have got to be fucking kidding. I'm a braves fan (marlins rival) and I say he was an amazing pitcher. His stats were fucking insane. Don't say that shit after they found out of his death...
God is not a respector of persons. Sometimes it's just their time to go. We might not see it now but his passing might be a future positive. Hard to tell now though. Still sucks. RIP
The man got what he deserved he was a cocaine addict and that's the reason he crashed because he used cocaine and other drug's and nobody stepped in to stop him so carma did
It's a shame his daughter won't get to know him, I hope there is enough videos and stories of her father to give her an idea of what kind of man he was. It seems he was a great person, such a shame, I feel for his family.
Me and my dad are big mets fans but damn. Jose was one of the best pitchers with the brightest future. This is big blow to the whole major league and it hurts me just seeing the sorrow in their eyes. I know Jose will do a great job pitching for the Angels ❤️
MLB VIDEO: Fernandez with his grandmother - 11/13/13 - Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez reunites with his grandmother for the first time since escaping Cuba for the U.S. when he was 15 years old on a raft. He saved his mother from drowning in that perilous escape m.mlb.com/video/topic/0/v31220231/jose-fernandez-reunites-with-his-grandmother
Rest in peace Jose I am a Yankees fan and still respect you u were one on of the best pitchers in MLB this is one of the most saddest moment in baseball I almost cried 😞😞😞😞😢😢😢😰😰😩😞😞😞😞😞 RIP
I haven't watched baseball in years and learning of all those recent deaths on TV never gets me. This did. I will pray for his family. This is a tragic loss.
Hearing this news this morning was absolutely heartbreaking to me. My thoughts and prayers for his family, friends, and Miami Marlins organization. He was a future HOF, and soon to be a father. He was my favorite pitcher to watch, and the passion he had for the game was a beautiful thing to see.he was a great kid with a great future and to hear this news today was absolutely heartbreaking. RIP Jose Fernandez. Dodgers nation
Even as a Huge Colorado Rockies Fan, I always look at the other team as the enemy, but there was something special about Jose' I just couldn't look at him as the enemy. Not many players rate that (non enemy) status with me but...Jose' was just so real! I'm certain Jose' is in heaven and some team (up there) has just got one of the best pitchers the planet has ever had.
I am a Yankee Fan but I feel so Sorry For the Marlins and Jose Fernandez family and teammates! Sending my love to the Miami Marlins and teammates and his family and friends
HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU TAKE THE FUN OUT OF YOUR DAY TO DISLIKE SUCH A HERATWARMING VIDEO AND SAD THAT WE LOST SOMEBODY VERY IMPORTANT LIKE IF YOU AGREE.... RIP Jose Fernandez gonna miss you🙏😢❤
This is so tragic. One would have to ask though why be out on a boat at 2 or 3 in the morning with such poor visibility and a pregnant wife at home and the fact there is an afternoon game the same day? Kind of odd circumstances. I was floored when I heard this today. Shocked! RIP Jose. #16!!
He probably had the best stuff in the major leagues. He was only 24 and already one of the best pitchers in the major leagues. He would have had a great career. RIP
2:30 what he said made most of the players put their heads down and/or cry... it's difficult to watch this press conference without shedding a tear... How hard it must be for all the people who loved him so much. :(
if you cry your not weak, put yourself in the shoes of his mom, girlfriend , teammates etc. we all know the feelings of losing someone special , as an Angels fan we lost pitcher Nick Adenhart . when you see someone young go it hurts the most , because there's so much more to life in the future , my sarrow is at magnitude and my codolences go to the Fernandez Family and The Miami Marlins Franchise . baseball definitely lost one of its greats , R.I.P Jose ,Your up there with all those legends . -Angels Fan
Me too, I feel sad too, I wish he would be an all star player for next year but he passed away and died of a boat crash. He was a great player he will be missed.
Rest In Peace, let all teams come together and mourn this tragedy, don't take life for granted because something can happen in the snap of your fingers, so love yourself and love the people around you.
We cannot continue to be divided by our petty differences. When it comes down to it, we are all the same. Jose Fernandez came to America to pursue his dream. Please keep that in mind when reaching for your dreams. Rest in peace, Jose. :-(
Very tragic. Not only a great young pitcher with a long bright future but also a great guy. That was easy to see just watching him play, must see TV. The other tragic side is lack of humanity. Ive noticed people making comments relating to this and what is truly sickening is how judgmental people are. Assuming alcohol was involved, questioning them being on a boat, etc. It's terrible to see people play judge and jury and presume the worst in order to make themselves sound like they are perfect and boost their egos while using a computer screen as a safety net instead of celebrating the greatness of Fernandez as a person and player. Who cares? Who are we to judge.
Condolences from minnesota. I dont even know what to say. The death of this superstar player and an even better person is just beyond sad. just crazy. i don't even know how these marlins players can even play baseball with this tragic event constantly on their mind. Hey, people die every day but when a promising young man dies too early and his parents have to bury him, it just breaks your heart.
