The first movement of Daniel Schnyder's Bass Trombone Concerto, played by David Taylor with the Absolute Ensemble NYC, under direction of Kristjan Jaervi.
As a trombonist I love watching these videos to remind me how much the instrument and performer can be capable of and to motivate me to get even better. David Taylor is one of my bassbone idols.
Very enjoyable playing - good video, with cameo shots of the different players to show where the action is, and nicely balanced and clean sound recording. Dave Taylor is a phenomenal performer on trombone - he has fantastic intonation and timing. @korjeklokismo: the best music is created ("written") by the best performers, because they know, not only what they want to hear, but what others are able to play. @JMR6916: If the music doesn't move you, then you just don't get it!
