You can't beat these behind the scenes glimpses we use to get. The fact that David also got to learn about and see the bodies of the event must have really helped him understand and portray seeing and being part of the destruction of Pompeii 😢

It showed off Peter Capaldi's big rear end when he was crouched down with his family near the end. You wanted him to be this age when he played the Doctor like half a decade later. He was absolutely beautiful in this episode. Roman outfit, forget about it.

Not only was Peter Capaldi in this but i rewatched it recently and KAREN GILLAN was that first soothsayer. Its crazy how many Dr.Who characters came from this epsiode and only shows how impactful it was.

It’s heartbreaking when you walk around Pompeii and see the life those people had before the eruption and then the aftermath of the ashen bodies. This Doctor Who episode was fantastic

I think they are counting down to something 60th related with these such as another trailer or a release date. The channel has had this trend for some years now where on Sunday the uploads are a clip of the previous series and they go episode by episode by each week until a trailer gets dropped. Series 4 Continental clips makes sense as it's 10 (14 bruh) and Donna. The countdown has begun essentially. Get hyped!

Love, I absolutely love these behind the scenes! Just look at David's face, listening to the account of what happened and looking at those exact bodies. You can just see by his expression that he's seeing it happen in his mind.

This is the first Doctor Who Confidential I've seen. Very interesting to get a glimpse behind the scenes of an episode I've seen. Too bad we didn't see Peter Capaldi, but at this time, there was no way to predict that he'd become the Doctor in a future regeneration.

I still remember watching this very episode of Confidential when it aired. I was in my second-last year of high school in 2008 and we were studying Pompeii and Herculaneum for Ancient History, so I was instantly obsessed with The Fires of Pompeii.

When Tennant speaks off camera he’s particularly un-Doctor-like. His Estuary English accent for the character definitely stuck, to the point that it’s unusual hearing the Bathgate brogue. Funny as neither McCoy before him nor Capaldi afterwards, was asked to ‘go English’.

If you ever see a roman bath look for where the water can leave. You will not find it. So, emptying the bath was hard and so not very often done. This means that the water was not clean.
