You're such an immensely valuable source! I mean the amount of work that goes into these comparisons and dealing with constant staggered updates is crazy, which is why you're basically the only one to do it
Truth is.. Like the old school developers, Steinberg/Emagic/MOTU ect , the DNA was founded on Midi and audio was an extension, , As for Digidesign and Protools . once Soundtools, its the complete opposite... An audio designed program that added midi... IMO. This may be off topic, as this vid talks about Midi.. But the interplay with all things DAW, this is what gets my goat. Thats why Ive only ever used the programs that where is seed was planted with a sequencer style midi approach... for example, I couldn't afford Tools, so a bank loan that could buy a few cars, got me at least more for my money...An Atari, Synced to a 4 track (a linear approach) for my Main Vox, Guitars and Bass, a sync track , making those Samplers, Drum Machines and Synths works overtime.... It wasn't a 24 track protools , or a Fairlight CMI.,...... But it was the peasant setup that could still be the Brush , Paint, easel and canvas that delivered my picture..... Trust me, I'm not giving Avid as pass.. I often have to use PT for Film post, it is a standard.. Compatibility is essential....... or if im doing the Music for the film, now in logic, I still have to (well not have to) when in that realm, where deadlines are a thing, Handing over deliverables (if not the one man show) compatibly and transparency are in essence ,mission critical. To add.. I hate protools fro composition.... But, It is solid for all other film work... Though I still have HD10, because my old 11 is gimped to such an extreme with functions available in even free software, the tier system Avid employs is outright extortion.... And this SUB model is cheap, pathetic , and something they are simply able to do. I tried Davinci Resolve 16 previously , but the workflow was so Video editor specific... But it seems with 17 , they've literally fixed every issue as an audio guy on the Fairlight page.. So a short im about to do, Im going to give it a go.. The Director is paying me, so he can pay me to learn a program,... after , I set the deadline... and knowing he'll want me to music, I believe VI's are now in play... But I guess, most importantly, To think most other developers add features and also listen to the community and fix bugs... Yes, all software has bugs... But.....To compare what is the possibility shown by some, , , making you question the Feasibility of Avid being the One....Well.,... Apple has literally had 3 major Point releases , and all for free.. Blackmagic has DR for Free, its has had more updates and bug fixes in its time, probably more than Media composer and PT combine this year.... How about Presonus listening and within a short time, fix the code as mentioned here... Digidesign I dealt with directly... Once Avid acquired them , Just like there software model... Dealing with them was like wallsteet brokers selling you stock... Avid perpetual Licences with ridiculous prices, and a 1 years update cycle.... Still asking for payment to get upgrades isa the diversion to go on the Sub model... Theyve got the Film post guys locked in, But with better programs for actually composing, with features even beyond as overall packages... Avid will never be concerned about the value of what is mentioned here..... The only value off concern is their stock prices... Apologies for the Rant.... No IO really do love Avid. ./s Just my $0.69* due to inflation.

After a long, looong time struggling with latency, turns out a free DAW was the answer: Cakewalk has unperceivable latency, I mean like 0 All I wanted was to be able to play my controller keyboard and a Windows tablet portably and I finally made it.
