She looks and sounds better than ever. That new dual beam Goes hard. I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving and a good 15 year run, before her next rebuild
Pere Marquette #1225 is back under her own steam once more after mechanical repair work. She's back under steam and ready to pull the 2023 North Pole Express. Welcome back PM #1225.
For a second I thought it was the 765 because of the headlight! XD But seriously, it’s amazing to see her back in operation once again without a doubt.
The legend awakes. Long may she steam. Wishing 1225 dry rails and smooth running for many years to come. Merry Christmas and Happy Thanksgiving 1225 and @steamrailroadinginstitute
Look forward to seeing her and her new oil bunker. Per the comments below and her new dual beam headlight...I'm assuming that the FRA plays into this which may require certain "lumen - aspect" on all operational "vehicles", and perhaps her original "single-beam" headlight didn't meet that criteria, (
It does but new energy standards for bulbs mean the type that goes into the single beam is in limited supply verses the Twin Sealed Beams. In part due to the low light operation of the North Pole express and a desire to extend the remaining supply of the old bulbs, they’ve decided to use this twin sealed insert for now. This comes directly from members of SRI’s crews.
And I think she looks a little more accurate with the dual beam headlight, since a good majority of 1225's Brothers and sisters that were on the Nickel Plate Road were equipped with them
Dual beam headlights are much better than single, as you can see the tracks in the nighttime. not to mention 4014, 148 and 4501 also have dual beam lights.
Apparently the single beam headlights for some steam locomotives are hard to find now. Plus the dual beam headlights provide more visibility, especially at night. Personally I like the new change for it besides the running gear work they did!
At the rate the tickets were selling for the North Pole express. The crews I bet were working extra hard to get her ready to go before the runs arrive.
The single beam headlight is now hard to find and it doesn’t provide enough visibility for the locomotive at night. The dual beam headlight provides more visibility for the locomotive at night.
@@ThunderboltSirenStudiosAccording to SRI, the dual beam headlight is a visibility improvement as well as a response to the limited availability of the old headlamp bulbs.
