The biggest gaming mascot thing is UK specific btw and its 100% accurate. If it was done 15 years ago or older Crash would have been 1. It will vary with every region and country, like Terry would be top 10 in South America. Stuff like that. Nintendo only got mega popular again with the Switch here, it broke off completely since N64. Wii was all Wii Sports here and Guitar Hero etc. Gamecube was not popular, Wii U was non existent. Also if Fortnite had a more prominent main character they would be top and with CoD people only remember Ghost. If it was a greater span though Lara would be 2 and Crash would be 1.
Content Warning's issue is pacing. Lethal company does a really good job of having good interactivity with he world and the monsters, but in this game the enemy balance is off in the sense where either control is taken from you, or its not possible to escape. It just leads to less moments where trying to flee can snowball into more hilarity like it does in lethal company, and also the horror aspect is much more limited because enemies feel more like a gimmick than a threat and so the deaths just fall flat.
Mispronouncing words: I might politely correct someone if they mispronounce a word, but it should never be a point of shame, because if they know the word yet can't pronounce it correctly, it's a STRONG indicator that they learned the word from READING, which is fantastic.
Can confirm. Nervous wreck laddering SC2. Team games are SO much fun though. Felt like there was no real pressure to win or lose. Just fun with friends. That said, I love 1v1 games. The tough part about 1v1 games is often the learning curve. You get matched against another player who is much better, you get crushed and learn nothing. Repeat. Or you win, and also learn nothing. I think what was a godsend for me over the years is having one friend around my skill level to consistently match up against, or practice with. We'd learn from each other's strengths and weaknesses and become much better over time as a result. I had basically no background on Witcher before watching the series, and I think this was the best way to watch it. Everyone I talked to who knew the story beforehand was upset about how they changed it. Putting in MTX post launch should be illegal. It's SO predatory and manipulative. They won't stop doing it until they genuinely believe that the MTX is a net loss profit. But from what I know about MTX in games, it's never even close. MTX makes so much money. I don't really mind MTX provided that they are non-intrusive, and the game isn't otherwise worse for having them. ie: Game design changes to promote them. Cohh is right about Stardew not really having things you can miss. And I laughed so hard when JP actually sang that song.
It's a little funny to listen to the DD2 MTX conversation after the marketing report from the start of the show. I dislike MTX, I'm annoyed that became the conversation around DD2....and I wonder if there are reports showing Capcom that actually none of that is negative for their bottom line.
At this point, I'm 100% convinced that the only reason the mtx were even in the game was because of some executives saying they had to be put in, none of the mtx in capcoms games make sense otherwise, for the single player games that is. I also would rather they not be there, but if they have to be, I'd rather they be like the ones I dd2 where they are completely pointless
I refunded DD2 because of performance. I have a high end system and my frame rate fluctuated up and down from 40 to 85 fps at random everywhere. It made it feel terrible.
I think there is something wrong with cohh's glasses I had some about 10 years or so ago and loved them. they changed almost immediately I loved them to death. Got mine at Baymeadows Vision Center off Phillips and Baymeadows in jacksonville fl, paid about $800 or so (also got scratch resistance and polarization on them) for the things so kind of expected them to work and work good.
I actually did some research when I heard cohh talk about his, and apparently, the temperature around you can cause them to darken or clear up at different rates
I think the issue may be that the lenses can't be polarised, which I've found makes a significantly biggest difference compared with just having darkened lenses. It's the main reason I no longer use them and just have a pair of prescription sunnies instead. I've even found driving at night to sometimes be better with the sunnies due to how much they help with headlight glare.
I had transition lens glasses when I was in elementary school in the very early 2000s and it is interesting to see they are still having the same issues 23 years later.
Think Cohh's transitions just aren't great. I got some that can turn pretty dark for sunlight but take less than 5 minutes to swap, colder temps can make it take longer but they're quick for me.
Cohh's doctor would have scared me away from that surgery. The level of that conversation would have made me wonder if this dude doubted his own ability.
After watching this, makes me really not want to play Dogma 2. This game seems like you need massive research or a chat(in their case) to really enjoy the game itself.
Street Fighter 6 World Tour mode was poorly optimized as well. Same issue of npcs loading in real close, frame drops etc. And the mtx for SF6 are worse. $20 for a Avatar skin.
I've been wearing transition glasses for last... 10 years... maybe 1 or two year longer. They do not switch instantly, thats true - but they usually clear out enough in max 15 minutes that its never been an issue for me.
Capcom probably made more money from the microtransactions than they would've made in all the lost sales opportunities. Best to put those in right when the game is released in order to capitalize on the initial player spike.

The thing no one talks about with the MTX of Dragons Dogma 2 is that it might have been a way to push more Deluxe Editions and not the actual MTX. The MTX in this game are an idiot tax. Most of them are bundled in the DE for less cost and most are things you can easily get in game. And Deluxe Editions don’t carry the same stigma as MTX (for whatever reason). I wonder how many more DEs they sold based on this value positioning compared to the MTX.
-Anyone who altered their rent plans because of a small alteration in the path of a shadow is some combination of fool and lazy. Being just within the path of totality only gives you a 45-second eclipse. Why wouldn't one just drive further into the path of totality when the time comes, to get the 3-minute version? I find it difficult to believe that anyone actually changed their rental plans, and if they did they deserve to lose that money. I'm guessing these are false claims made online.

I'm pretty sure part of the delay in Stellar Blade is the start up frames to block. It takes forever to block... which I could see confusing people into thinking there's input delay. Really, it just takes her a decade to raise her sword up to block.
Personally I think that if there were no microtransactions in Dragon's Dogma 2, the amount of sales at the time of announcement would have gone from 2.5 million to 2.5 million.

I agree that its a regular celestial event.. but people are people. The U.S. has had 15 total or partial solar eclipses since 1900 seen over land, and in every year it has happened upto and including 1979 there has been a group or event that has proclaimed the end of the world large enough to have been notated in the national news (took about 7 min of googling to find that.)
As someone who has no interest in playing Helldivers (the game just isn't for me), I will admit that they are ABSOLUTELY killing it I wish companies would take note of the interaction they have and try to take a page out of that book. Even when it comes to the CEO and their twitter posts. They are doing PR right. I am glad they are doing well!
This kind of bullshit reminds me of the original King's Quest games. You could do something that bricks your game completely (like forgetting an item and going beyond a point when you can go back for it) and you wouldn't know until several hours later.

This is such a widespread problem that you can find people on forums complaining about others who do it; I have no idea where the fucking N comes from but it drives me up the wall. Nah there's a ton of game characters more popular, Croft is probably the most popular female lead (until you bring in LoL and stuff like that), but this was just a virtue signal to show how "progressive" they are. I'll never do eye surgery. First, everyone I know who has had lasics tells me it causes problems with your vision at night. Second, your eyes are kind of important. If the option is "wear glasses" versus "MAYBE temporarily fix your eyesight but MAYBE also permanently damange or lose your eyesight", then I'm gonna take the glasses.
Unfortunately, if ROKU went out of business, the patent portfolio would be considered an asset and would be sold off to someone else. It would not just vanish.
