This series is SO good! Third movie will be here in a week, and since it’s already been watched, discuss your favorite movie and moment from the trilogy!

Koba was a bonobo (normally benevolent creatures) that became sentient, self-aware, and cognizant AFTER he spent most of the first 16 years of his life being tortured physically and psychologically by humans. Koba was broken beyond repair and the more intelligent he became the more that fact tormented him further.

Koba is one of them soldiers that makes people ask.... "Why do we fight with him?" "So we don't fight against him" He's such a great villain character, his arch has been perfect

There is not a single bad movie in this saga. Of course we all have one that we like more than the other, but all three are wonderful in their own way

It was three people that did this, though, not just Koba. Still, only three. That one dude who had the shotgun hidden in the briefcase, forgot his name, and Gary Oldman’s character, forgot his name too. They were both distrusting of the apes, ready to wipe them out at any excuse out of fear. Then you throw Koba into the mix. Two humans and one ape, all full of hate, fear, distrust, and itchy trigger fingers. Humans could have built their society back up again, and apes could have been right alongside them for that, but thanks to those three, the future of humans and apes is nothing but war and enslavement.

A lot of folks giving Serkis his flowers (and absolutely deservedly so) but we also have to give it up to these VFX artists. All that hard work Serkis did, the full-body physical performances, the nuanced and emotive facial expressions, all had to be chopped and screwed and remixed thru some CGI apes to such an expert degree that one almost forgets those apes we're looking at aren't real. So, much respect to those VFX artists.

Koba killing Ash (rocket son) was to much 💔

I feel so bad for rocket 🥺 He was a prisoner with Maurice when Koba killed his son.

Rocket is Caesar’s step to leadership. Lived in captivity most likely his entire life but became his most loyal soldier. Koba spent many years in captivity, was never embarrassed by Caesar, betrayed Caesar, became more like humans. Died like the first human he killed.

I love the comparison between Caesar and Koba Caesar is a chimpanzee which are known to be aggressive and violent but he always strives for peace. Koba is a bonobo which are known to be docile and peaceful animals but he always wants war.

After seen this entire sequel ,caesar really becoming on my top of favs characters ever .

This is one of my favorite trilogies ever made. None of the 3 are weak. Havent really seen that since Lord of the Rings.

Caesar,Maurice and Rocket are my top 3 favs.

I agree with you koba has been shady from the start and the reason is humans that isn't an issue tho the issue is he couldn't or wouldn't let it go after 10 years, Caesar weak, koba weaker is probably one of the best lines ever.. Andy serkis definitely deserved an award for these movies... Fun fact: Maurice's chu actor is a woman and they had her wear 10 weights on all her limbs to show the true movements of a large orangutan... Rocket's CGI actor worked on one of the Kong movies so he trained the actors to walk like apes... With stilts for their arms...

I was hoping to see more sympathy for Koba. My homie was tortured for all of his life; he needed therapy. And he wasn't wrong to distrust humans. He just took it one step too far.

The original Ape series (especially the first two) really hold up and do way different and bigger scale world building then the new Apes movies both are great but the OGs shouldn't be slept on at all IMO.

The next one is so dark..but amazing.

I actually love you outros. It’s nice hearing your final thoughts about the movie. And the idea of giving people flowers every video is so sweet. It’s especially nice to hear that Late to the Party are as nice irl as they seem to be in their videos.

Facts are facts... If Koba would have got his way from the jump it would have secured the future of the ape species and saved a TON of ape lives.

I haven't seen the newest film yet, but this original trilogy is probably the second greatest film trilogy of all time behind Lord of the Rings. Personally, I enjoy this trilogy more unless you talk about the extended Lord of the Rings films. The writers and producers really mapped out a fantastic story and each movie in this trilogy is damn near perfect.

For my Koba was the perfect villain . Don't support all his actions But he was so amazing as a villain.

It is very true that Koba was a very good soldier and from the beginning of the movie they show that Caesar trusted him a lot. but as a leader he is horrible The hatred had him so blinded that he may have had all the apes killed because of him.

It may seem dated now, but if you want some practical effects with actual people in suits and makeup as apes "Greystoke:The Legend of Tarzan" ain't too bad. *may be looking at it through rose-colored, nostalgic glasses.

Hi, hope you’re well? I adore Rise, Dawn, War and the new one Kingdom. I adore Caesar he’s the best character ever written. Andy Serkis and the other actors that played the apes deserve more praise that they get so does this trilogy it so criminally unappreciated and underrated and i can’t understand why. Out of this trilogy i love Rise the best, then Dawn, then War. Kingdom is a great film too it’s up there with this trilogy and Noa who is the protagonist in Kingdom has a lot of potential so i hope we see him again. Koba played byToby Krebbel is a great villian . I kind of understand why Koba thinks the way he does about humans because he was scarred up and tortured till Caesar freed him but on the opposite side of the coin Caesar grew up with Will and Charles so he knows both the loving side and the bad side of humans. I’m sure you’ll love this one it raises the bar from Rise and War raises the bar again. Look forward to hearing what you think of Dawn. What can't be overlooked is the attempt at bonding between some of the good apes and the humans, in particular, Maurice and the kid. I actually thought it was sweet and even funny when the boy was reading a story about a keg party to Maurice lol. It hits hard when Malcolm and Caesar said they thought they had a chance. Since you already saw War, I'll tell you that there was a cut scene with Malcolm. Apparently, he had a run-in with the Colonel and was killed. I'm glad they cut that scene because the movie was dark enough.

You should check out society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one. If you do watch it I recommend the original language with subtitles, the acting was amazing

Love this entire saga Caesar as the Main character is so good

It was so many dominos that fell. They had a 3 day deadline that we can only assume malcom only knew/didnt tell anybody. (Also we never see/no mention of anyone returning and coming back saying hey we're good. Dont come up here and kill apes) So by default if the days went by the humans would've attacked the apes regardless but they got the power working if they didnt, the 3rd day would've hit. Rockets son getting shot. Koba following, finding them testing the weapons was alright but he investigated further and found they had an arsenal. Koba saying hey you freed me id do anything you'd ask but we need to show strength, and they did but then caesar slowly but definitely giving the humans more and more free reign. Koba was spitting from his point of view (star wars certain pov dammit) koba saying caesar choosing humans over the apes. When he was lol And to koba with the human work! Showing the scars, we can only assume he was tortured (maybe novelization explains) Even maurice getting inbetween koba and the kid and then caesar beating up koba cemented in his mind that he needed to do what he had to. Caesar kept letting the humans slide when they were in the wrong and didnt beat ol dude to death when both his sons were at gunpoint of a shotty, but he wanna beat on koba? Would've been a different convo if koba said hey they got guns vs hey they gearing up for war they loading up and are gonna come for us and wipe is put (which technically they were supposed to bc the 3 day deadline) and if koba did say something infront of the humans, what would malcolm have said? What would tje group have done? How would the apes have reacted? would malcolm have come clean and have told them about the 3 day deadline and risk being unalived or play he didnt know anything and just hope they finished and caesar didnt believe koba? Crazy huh

To be honest I still haven't seen the new one that came out recently, I've heard mixed reactions, but this saga with Caesar as the protagonist is incredible.
