I'm 1st nations from Dawson, Mooshide village Han-Trondeck Gwitchin tribe and it's the most beautiful place in Canada I think, theres so much more to know and learn on the indigenous side of things for example the reason why our people stayed in dawson before it was called that is because of the dome,they were able to scan for enemies coming to raid wich were mainly the Tlingit tribe,it would give us time to prep for battle also the caribou herds would go by and is visible from the dome top.

You are absolutely right. We would love to come back to learn more about the Indigenous culture and history in Dawson City. Thanks for the information and we look forward to visiting again.

Some miners stayed after 1899 and the population did not all leave at once. I recommend the book "I Married the Klondike" by Laura Beatrice Berton as a way to get a true feeling for Dawson City in the years after the initial discovery of gold. World War I and the Great Depression impacted Dawson City further reducing its population.

The gold never ran out as you say, it just got harder to find. Gold is still being mined in Dawson 122 years later. You also forgot to mention Robert Service's cabin that you said was Jack London's. Also Soapy Smith's grave that you showed, is in Dyea, Alaska, not Dawson. How did you get to Inuvik?
@ThePlanetD
@ThePlanetD 4 года назад
Very good point. It's still there, it was just harder to get (especially back then) so they moved on to easier destinations. We flew to Inuvik and then rented a car from there one way. Thanks for all the great additions. We definitely need to go back to the Yukon.

Hello how are you people of Dawson City I wonder if a fellow by the name of Tony beets tried to buy The Dredge it looks like a worthwhile Eldridge and it does get a hell of a lot of gold for each scoop you're probably talking about 5 ounces are probably more free scoop probably even 10 times more than that but it does have its own system to go through from a sluice box all the way down through even taking up the gravel this is not a real motor operated vehicle it's anchored off with bulldozers to Anchor It Off you move it by moving the cables to turn the vessel unable for you to just keep scooping but you also have to watch and how many scoops you grab two because you can dislodge the bucket from the rails and that would be a hell of a thing trying to put back on usually you need a buckle to actually knock the buckets back online but only beeps Tony beets has bought a lot of dredges and suffered going through so many repairs on the drums that hold the vessel upright and float but also has a multiple gearing system in the housing that is abling for you to take the buckets and scoop up a heck of a lot of dirt as it goes up to the top it goes down in through the sluice boxes separating sand from gold and keeping it in some kind of a a potato sack type of material that catches the gold and able for you to separate it properly and then put the rugs through a process of cleaning that water in mud soil is taken to another machine also two separate more black dirt from the gold usually on a pendulum or even Valley of different ripples to go through to catch the gold once that is done that it's cooked and then weighed to find out how much you really had found with your dredge yes I know how to do them and they're over probably about 75 years old but I need to know how the cable systems work that way I can find that out of run it and make a lot of gold but angling in in position with the plows by moving around to Channel The Dredge into a new area and repeat the same subject man I got an itching for gold my good friend your new friend TCB third son of Elvis Presley Elvis Mark Dawson alive and well in Canada somewhere you heard that correctly my father came to Toronto Ontario Canada Maple Leaf Gardens in 1957 her two shows my mom went to the concert after the concert they met up and had a date the first night and that's all it took and here I am that's living proof I look exactly like my dad right to a T also my eyes are hazel sometimes turns blue and it's very canning of what you see there has been a lot of pictures taken of me over the years mistaking me as my father Elvis Presley it's that bad every time I run ride the Toronto subway somebody comes up on me and that's me you look like Elvis Presley then I explain to them why
