Thank you for this video and I appreciated that you did not delete the little glitches in replacing the slide…definitely interested in this product.

I’ve only used the one for a bushingless gun from when I had my Staccato P. Very nice system to facilitate takedown. That Quantico is looking sharp!

Finish on that 1911 is nice and that’s good to know about the recoil spring plug.

My TRP has the two piece and I need to use the base of a magazine to depress the cap; I don't know how people do that with finger pressure or notching their fingernails. Mine came with the wrenches and the bent pin but mine doesn't use the bent pin so....Springfield could've just done a bit better and included a polymer bushing wrench. While I like this and innovation in general, I'll eventually try a GI style guide rod, especially at their price point.

So I have the fusion firearms tooless guide rod. My plug only comes out from the front. There is a small ledge which won’t let the plug go the way it should with the tooless. My TRP has a tooless but no go on this Springfield. Bummer. Great info.

Is the unit drop in or did you need to buy additional springs/parts for it?

It was drop-in for me, but after input from some higher-end 1911 makers, I found that some aftermarket guide rods may need some fitting. I ultimately ended up going back to the gi guide rod that came with the gun.

Just checked Dawson's website, needs a spring but you could use the original spring or just pick up another one.
