39 minutes ago I didn't know how to interpret the PowerBI interface and had only heard of DAX by name. This video provided such a strong basis for both that I can dive deeper into PowerBI with confidence. Look forwards to watching the rest of the series. You helped me get started with VBA and looks like you'll do the same for PowerBI. Thank you for all your excellent tutorials!
Finally DAX from WiseOwlTutorials! I am surely impressed with this first video and excited for the entire series! Thanks a lot for doing this! Very much appreciated! 😊👍
HAHA Andy, i took a break from watching your videos because I moved from Excel/VBA more to Power BI and here you are with new series. It's going to be awesome! THX!
Most Demanding Series, I was waiting for this. In today's market, Power BI, Python and Mathematics are most essential Subjects to learn. Thank you so much Sir.
One of my most favourite channel on youtube. Thanks for helping us with your great knowledge and this Power Bi course will also help guys like me who can't afford for the paid courses get a good job.. I can't thank you enough for the things you are doing for us.🙂
You're very welcome, it's my pleasure! Thank you so much for becoming a channel member and I hope that you enjoy the rest of the videos! By the way, you can see all of the early-access videos in this playlist ru-vid.com/group/UUMObi5G5PjWBaQUFy7XU_O7yw It will be updated automatically with members only videos as we publish them. I hope it helps!
Thanks Professor for the long awaited series on DAX and Power BI. It'll be very useful if you deep dive a little in explaining how DAX formulas behave in various contexts. I'm a big fan of you and your work. Thanks!
Awesome, easy to understand & every step has clear understanding for what to go next & how it different from previous. Thanks for making that simple.... ✌✌
Thank you so much sir and please upload remaining complex scenarios for power bi and its very help to us and ur tutorials is very help to me personally, good job sir and please explain paginate report session video ...
Hi Matt! Yes, we are! Apologies for the lack of new content recently - we're working hard on some new courses but we do have plans for more videos on DAX, some new ones on Office Scripts and maaaaaybe some Power Automate content too!
Hi! It's in progress, you can see all the current videos in the series in this playlist ru-vid.com/group/PLNIs-AWhQzclPj5BGcckuyrOVqRD-7rIX We'll be releasing more as we create them!
hi! hope you are great :) ... why did you insert a normal table instead of a matrix in the minute 24.00? what´s the difference between them both? pd. thank you so much for this!
Hi Natalia! In a matrix the columns are generated automatically using the distinct values of the column you place in the Columns bucket of the field well - each column in the matrix displays the result of the same aggregate function or measure. In a table you choose which columns appear by adding them individually to the Values bucket in the field well. I hope that helps!
Thanks for the Videos on Power BI, Question - How do you compare this to Python ? Is there some advantage you find out of the Box of either that makes it Obvious to use one over the other ? Appreciate your opnion.........
Hi Davis, thanks for the question! I don't think that the two are directly comparable - Power BI is an end-user application for building and distributing reports. Python is a general purpose programming language in which you can do almost anything you like. If you're aiming to use Python to replicate the end results of Power BI reports, I'm sure that you can do this but you'll have to work a lot harder to get there!
Great video Andrew. I have been a long time fan and is your current paying member. I have a question hoping you could help me with. I designed a dashboard currently being filtered in the main filter page by employee. How do I implement the dashboard so that each user opening the dashboard will automatically filter to his or her information?
Hi Robert, thank you for the support! I'm guessing that you already have the Row Level Security working docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-rls
Hi! We have a video which covers Filter and CalculateTable which you can find later in the playlist ru-vid.com/group/PLNIs-AWhQzclPj5BGcckuyrOVqRD-7rIX I hope it helps!
@26:41 you use the expression 'CALCULATETABLE'. Why did you use 'CALCULATETABLE' instead of FILTER when you used the exact same expression when creating the table called 'Oscar Winners '?
No particular reason! There's a video later in the playlist which goes into the details of Filter and CalculateTable, it's part 5.1 ru-vid.com/group/PLNIs-AWhQzclPj5BGcckuyrOVqRD-7rIX&feature=shared
Hi! The slicer isn't designed to filter the genres, it's used to allow the user to select a genre with which all the other genres will be compared. I hope that helps!
For calculating the Avg Lngth of the Short film i used the below formula but it showing incorrect result what is missing here? Please help me understand Avg_Profit_Loss_for_Short = ([Avg_Profit_Loss]-[Avg_Profit_Loss_for_Long])
Thank you so much sir for these videos that you sent me by internet, so I have a question about excel vba, I tried to write a macro about protecting cells containing formula but I found it difficult, now I ask you to help me with this program I wrote is as follows: Sub protect_formula() Worksheets(1).Activate Dim i As Integer For i = 1 To Worksheets.Count Worksheets(i).Select With ActiveSheet .Unprotect .Cells.Locked = false .Cells.SpecialCells(xlCellTypeFormulas).Locked = True .Protect .Columns.EntireColumn.AutoFit .Rows.EntireRow.AutoFit End With Next i ActiveWorkbook.Save End Sub
Hi! It would be helpful if you post a question about VBA on a VBA video - preferably one that is related to the question you're asking. It would also be helpful if you explain what is going wrong.
